A short and sweet story that hits you hard if you can sympathize with Sam and Lonnie, but also Kaitlin, which I definitely can. It does feel a bit boring and too slow in some parts, but towards the end it picks up and wraps up the story in a really nice way.

Such a creative way to tell a story (stories) like this. So intriguing and well built.

2018

Just so beautiful. Executes what it tries to do perfectly.

100% sure this would be a 5 if I had played it on a pc that could run it at more than 720p 30fps, just a game virtually made for me

They just took the already pretty bad combat from the base game and made it worse. You could literally just have autocombat on at this point since there are no creative decisions you can make that really substantially affect a battle here. The story is also incredibly stupid and really feels like it didn't need to be told, to the point where i don't even wanna consider this canon. I don't know what more to say about this, I don't even think there is more to say about it. Oh, I also actually turned on Casual mode for the second half of this game because I just really wanted to get it over with with as few actual battles as possible because of how terrible the combat system really is.

The best game I have finished so far in the Xenoblade series. The combat is at least as good, if not a little better than of the base game, although with less customization as far as equipment goes, but that's understandable as it is a much shorter game. The story of this game is a lot better than in the base game though. The chemistry between the characters feel more natural and the game and story is just very cozy in general. It provides a lot of needed backstory and explanation to the main games story and actually makes the main game a bit better because of it. Sidequests are also really great and enjoyable in this one, as they should be because the middle part of this game is basically just sidequesting. That is also really the only part of the game that is a bit bad as it does drag out a bit and seems to very obviously just be there to make the game be longer. Overall a great game for sure

Second main game I finished in the Xenoblade series, after playing Xenoblade 2 first. I enjoyed the story quite a bit more than the story of 2, but the combat feels like such a downgrade. It is really slow and you just don't have as many creative options in the way you approach each fight. It's the same thing every time, and I never even got to the point where you just topple lock everything. I just didn't want to play after the story ended, it really felt like there was nothing more to do afterwards. The sidequests were also always either a fetch quest, monster hunter quest or just going to talk to 50 people in a row, there were VERY few sidequests that were even close to being interesting. Sounds like I'm really shitting on this game as I'm writing this, but I still feel giving it less than 3.5 stars would be wrong so I guess the story and characters are just that good huh

Really good when you don't play it 100hrs a week grinding ranked to try to actually get good at the game, at that point it's really just mental torture. A lot of the time I just hated it, but that is obviously because of the way i played it. I wouldn't play a game for 3500hrs if I didn't think it was good lmao

One of my favourite combat and equipment/customization systems of any game. Feels really rewarding grinding for better equipment in the lategame just to do all the challenges and do some time attacks a little faster. Before all that though, the story just doesn't feel very good. Some parts are really good and hit hard for sure, but other parts just feel flat out stupid. If it wasn't for the combat system I probably wouldn't even have finished this game tbh

Cool demo, not much more to say about it, way too short to be really good

Probably my favourite of the series. There's just something about the setting of this game that I really like. Also cried really hard at one point in the story because of something that just really hit hard and that's one of the only times that has happened to me in a game.

Really atmospheric and cozy, but the last two episodes were kinda lacking

A really atmospheric game with a cool story that takes some twists and turns that you wouldn't really expect coming into it. Gets pretty dark at certain points. Certain aspects of the story could for sure be done better though.

A game that really shows, at least to me, how games can sometimes tell a story a lot better than a movie can. Playing this game you just feel for the characters so much, it really feels like you're a part of the story even if the choices you make don't end up mattering too much in the end.

Some parts were pretty slow, but thats also the only bad thing I can say about this game. This is THE stealth game.
