great atmosphere and setting
playing this right after outlast was crazy, it's just crazy how literally everything outlast tried to do is done better here
bosses and "dungeons" were up and down, but overall pretty good
I loved the escape room bit
enemy variety was just nonexistent
got more invested in the story than I thought i would, and even though I wont be playing the dlc (seems a bit overpriced), I'll definitely watch a lets play of it just to see what happens
maybe more of an action game than a horror game, even though it had its moments of spookiness
overall really close to a 9 but just cant look past there being like 3 total different enemies (except bosses) in the entire game

this game has no business being this good, it's ridiculous
the soundtrack is one of the best in a long time, gameplay mechanics are a speedrunners dream, and its just fun fun fun all the way
crazy how i just finished the best 2d mario i've ever played and it's not even the best 2d platformer of the year

bowser just wanted to get the rave going man

I have no idea what happened the last month but apparently I played this poker game for 150 hours so there's that

Such a creative way to tell a story (stories) like this. So intriguing and well built.

This game is probably the biggest in scale out of any game I've ever played, it truly feels impossibly massive in every way. Just thinking about the insane amount of voiced dialogue can make your mind melt (thematically accurate).

Every single part of this is so impressive that, again, it feels like a game that should be impossible to exist.
Now, I do have some issues with it (mainly me not vibing with the combat(skill issue)), but they weren't big issues at all in the big picture.

My score and opinion of this game might change as I play more of it, and I do intend to do other playthroughs (I'm in the middle of a co-op one right now and boy is it fun), and during my last grind to finish it I was sick with covid and played maybe a biiiiit too much (like at least 10hrs a day) so it definitely colored my opinion at least a bit.

Still, this is definitely one of the best games of the year, and that says a lot when the year is 2023.

I can also say that this was my first crpg and I haven't really played anything like this before, and while it was a bit rough in the start, I feel like I got a hang of all the different systems and controls fairly fast. The game is also very well optimized, so while it may seem a bit daunting, there really is no excuse to not give it a shot. Go play it guys!

Easily my favourite RE game. Theres an insane amount of content here and I could probably easily dump 100 hrs into this which is insane when the base game takes ~20hrs to complete. Best replayability of maybe any game I've ever played.
There's really nothing wrong with this game, only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because there's nothing really "special" about it I guess? At the end of the day it is just a really polished and fun RE game and I don't really know if that could ever be enough for a 5 for me personally. Definitely an amazing game though and the most fun I've had playing a game since TOTK.
Also Mercenaries is really fun

so good, ended up liking the story way more than i thought i would
also love the guard system, maybe i over relied on it tho, because i felt like i was barely dodging at all xd
only minor thing i can think of rn is that there wasnt a lot of enemy variety, there were like 3 different basic enemy types, but of those 3 there were a lot of variants so it didnt actually feel that bad
looking forward to their next game

I loved pretty much everything about this, the art style and the way they use music especially, so I'll just write about the stuff I didn't like as much.
Inventory management was unnecessarily annoying, could have easily been fixed by just giving you designated slots for a weapon and one piece of equipment and then just having the healing items, ammo and key items in the normal six slots. Not a big issue, just unnecessary.
My one other small problem could probably be an issue with me and not the game, but I found it a bit too difficult to figure out where I needed to go to progress at some points, and especially at one point where I eventually just looked it up (there was a door in a dark corner of a room and I guess my brightness might have been too low to see it but idk). It was just a bit too much of double- and triple-checking door and rooms to see if you missed something.
Those two things are honestly the only two real issues i have with the game though, and everything else was executed masterfully. Perfect atmosphere, perfect use of music (again, this is probably my favorite part of this game) and an amazing art style that assists in creeping you out and making you unnerved. Easy 9/10

this game has my single favorite moment in any game ever
it does stuff that is so interesting and I haven't seen in many games before it, makes me really kick myself for not playing alan wake 1 and control before this, because im missing quite a lot of context for stuff
going back and playing them later tho
liked sagas parts better than alans, mostly got to do with the setting tho
the nursery home has some of the best level design i've seen in a long time, maybe on the level of re2r police station
all in all an amazing, amazing experience, loved it

liked this more than 0
dont have much more to say that i didnt already say about re 0, atmosphere carries as usual
story wasnt great, but it was servicable

2018

Definitely an amazing roguelite game with amazing combat, boon system, story, but most importantly, the characters and the dialogue. The dialogue and the voice acting in this game is probably the best of any game I've ever played, the writing is probably what impresses me the most. Consistently funny, but also serious enough that it expands on the lore and story in a compelling way. I've only played through until i finished one escape attempt so far, but I will definitely return as I can tell there is still so much more content here, as with most roguelites. The only thing i that I feel it is missing is more insane combinations of boons and synergies, something I loved about The Binding of Isaac. It's still done well, I just feel like it could have been a bit better.

The most amazingly beautiful game I've ever played, really showcases the capabilities of the ps5 in the best way possible. I enjoyed every second of my whole playthrough, not one boring or frustrating moment, the difficulty and pacing was just about perfect. The only negative thing about this game, as I have seen just about everyone else say is the enemy variety, which does suck a little as there is only about 5 enemies you fight over and over again (or at least it feels that way), but in my opinion it isn't a huge thing and definitely doesn't detract from my experience much. One other small little nitpick is that the worlds don't feel quite as lived in or atmospheric as the worlds in the original trilogy did, but that might just be nostalgia speaking. Overall it's just about one of the best games I've ever played, visually stunning, fun gameplay, engaging story, fun and well-written dialogue and a great cast of characters. If you have a PS5 there is literally no reason not to play this, and I can recommend this to literally everyone.

very short game, took me around 30 minutes i think, even failing twice, but I think the game works pretty well regardless
it tells its story in a pretty interesting way although the self-awareness or "meta" part of it annoyed me a bit
also there isnt really any actual gameplay, just a handful of dialogue "options" where if you pick the wrong one it's just game over, which makes sense in the setting of the story but is still kinda annoying
even with all this, the story still managed to make me feel for the main character and immersed me pretty well so definitely feel like it's a game thats worth checking out, and im gonna play the devs other games for sure
