Why does Mario have a gun, and why is the trigger button not the trigger button, but instead it's the button on the top of the gun?

I don't know, but this actually ended up being really fun.

1995

Zoop was pretty much everywhere for some reason, and yet no one really seemed to talk about it.
On one hand this is "just another puzzle game".
On the other hand... it's a pretty good one!

Man, the mid 2010's were so weird and full of intentionally bad games because they were funny.

Don't get me wrong, they WERE funny. At the time I would have given this a 4 star rating - but I can't recommend this type of game any more. The moment has passed, and unless you're in the market for trying to relive this weird era of game humor, there's not much to see here.

Get Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat out of here - THIS was THE Fighting game of the 90's.

Not to mention the incredible soundtrack.

Would have loved to actually have given this a try - but early in it's life it was bogged down and nearly impossible to get into a game, or lagged to hell and back.

aaaaand then it was quickly abandoned by pretty much everyone. Did anyone actually successfully play this?

I guess I've played worse, but this was definitely a step down from Double Dragon 2 despite being made decades later.

I wish I could say this was "so bad that it's good" but it's not. It's just bad, unfunny, and unfun.

Think Joust, but make it much much better. Balloon Fight is mechanically very simple, but also a game I could play for hours.

Notable for using the Intellevoice module and having kind of a goofy sounding title screen, B-17 Bomber is actually a pretty good time when you are dedicated to learning how to play.

I cheated in all of the possible NES games available- but I have no idea how this game made the series popular. The guilt trip you get for not playing for more than a day in New Horizons is bad, but back here on the original AC? The villagers just plain suck.

Imscared, especially when it first originally released in 2012, was pretty unique for the meta-scare tactics it used.

The gimmick does get old because it only has a few tricks up it's sleeve, but when I first played it I did not expect to be genuinely surprised and startled by a pixel art game like this.

I used to be a "Frank". Don't be a "Frank".

This game is overwhelmingly dumb, but it's good for a few laughs.

It's a cute love-letter to horror movies and aesthetic put together in a short platformer - like an old-school platformer it requires a good bit of memorization but it's ultimately a pretty fun time.

You know when something is funny because it's just dumb enough but it somehow worked? That WAS Goat Simulator.

Then they did the next typical thing where they somehow started taking it too seriously and tried to make it more than it is.
The fact that there are more in this "series" makes this first one endlessly less funny - like a comedian who keeps the same shtick for too many years.

I bought this game and played it entirely in one day - it took less than 4 hours. I'll never play it again.
The game play is essentially a walking simulator.

BUT it tells a story - a story that I think is absolutely worth hearing, especially if you've ever felt the need to escape from everything in your life for a while.

If I could completely wipe a game from my mind to play it again for the first time... it would be Final Fantasy 4. But if I could wipe the memories of maybe 15 games away so I could experience them for the first time, this would be one of them.
