2020

I haven't been this deeply touched by a game in quite some time, let alone one that mostly comprises of pixelated gameplay and animation stills. I can't wrap my head around the gripping way it maintains the resilience of it's emotional core throughout all the mystery. Getting lost in the world of Omori was both a whimsical joy and a depressive spiral that I'm glad to be alive to witness. Incredible OST too!!!

What a marvelous achievement in platforming and level design. It's beyond me how expertly paced this game is, redundancy is non existent in Mario Wonder, the constant introduction of new enemies and gimmicks in every single stage is an incredibly difficult task to perfect and they just flawlessly executed it...like I have no gripes what so ever in terms of game progression it's amazing how refreshing the gameplay and worldbuilding felt especially considering the sheer volume of new elements this game had which could've easily landed itself in the overwhelming territory.

Does a lot with simple inputs. Great 2-3 hour puzzle experience

cute mind bending therapy session that overstays it's welcome

Such a well designed game that embodies everything great about the survival horror genre, and even though at times it might feel like it's wearing it's inspirations on it's sleeves, it compromises that with a uniquely stylized gameplay pattern and a cryptic yet poignant existential underbelly

aesthetically pleasing mind fuck

I don't think I'm capable of disliking a Metroid Vania so yeah this "did the thing" ig however I did have some notable issues regarding backtracking and how unnecessarily tedious it can feel which didn't help with how unrewarding the uncharted areas were.

The story was told in such a beautiful heartshatteringly creative way, every pivotal member of the narrative had their own signature style of storytelling and the immersiveness it ensures is so overlooked, it is the main reason this game is heralded as the holy grail of walking sims.

definitely worth the 0.58 dollars

How do you manage making what is objectively considered one of the best games of last decade then somehow improving every single aspect by a ginormous margin?

Calling God of War Ragnarök a masterpiece is an understatement, It is a primordial experience, one too big to behold, eyes continuously tearing up due to it's overwhelming astonishing nature.

It requires a tremendous lack of taste, heart, and soul to dislike the narrative of this game. So unbelievably carefully crafted and it wouldn't be insane to label it as one of the best regardless of any type of media. You truly feel the weight of Ragnarök throughout the game in clever ways, The character growth is beyond incredible and the subject matter is preciously handled, an example that is representative of that is Kratos and Freya's first Adventure together in Vanahaim, by far the most introspective lines of dialogue I've ever processed in a video game, the simple conversations about forgiveness, prophecies and fate were so surprisingly deep and hard-hitting. Another example of many that illustrate the perfect narrative structure is the moment Kratos and Atreus hunt for deer after Brok's death which was the most emotionally raw showcase of their dynamic as father and son, a moment that is testimonial to the game's versatility, to still feel personal amidst the vast scope of the overarching events.

Every other element of the game eclipses everything I said about the narrative, culminating to a perfect video game, I need to cut the review short just know that I will cherish every single speck of time this game pops up in my head.

short and sweet but lacked a lot of much needed depth and contained too much unnecessary information causing a feeling of fatigue

im a reactionary extrovert now
