It was fine. I kind of preferred the original though?

This crept up on me by the end

Could have done without the gacha but also I got through the whole game without worrying about the gacha

Play it after 2 for the feels

Like a lil teaser for Xeno 3 (I hope)

You can tell exactly when they decided to turn this into a completely different game but that's fine because it's still fun

I started playing this in VR and it is extremely good, but also so stressful that I had to put it down repeatedly. I'll finish it some day

The story is bittersweet and the mechanics tie into it in an interesting way but ultimately it's quite long and a bit janky

I'm not opposed to the Like A Dragon style turn based direction but man I enjoyed getting back to just hitting things. The cities remain a pleasure to get around and the combat is tight as Tak's pants. And the side missions? Squeezed together all the content of Yakuza 5 and made it optional with a sprinkling of plot to tie it all together. A real hoot.

As a game this is a weird one. It's more like a loose narrative connected by some loose logic puzzles and lots of running around. I don't know how it would make sense if you haven't played the Silver Case as it barely makes sense with having played that game. I loved it but I don't know that I can recommend playing it lol

Probably the most pure and simple Yakuza since the very first game and kind of sweet for it. Kaito has good honest fighting style and the story hits some absolute highs. Wraps up in a way that I'm frankly not used to in a Yakuza title.

What a wee treat this was. Nicely uses the original game as a base then gives it a modern spruce up. Gunplay is fast and vicious, cars all handle differently, story is good wholesome fun.

I loved the open world, and loved it even more that it's basically just a set for the plot. You can drive around if you please but there's no real need to do so. Turns out you don't need to pepper everything with collectibles to make a nice space.

All in all, this made me want to play Mafia 2 again. I kind of wish there were more games set in this time period. There's something nice about no phones or GPS or any of that stuff when you're playing a crime game.

An interesting game that runs like absolute custard on Switch for some reason. Suda51 is one of the most interesting writers in games. Second game doesn't really end so much as just fade out but it's worth the journey to get there.
