This one is a little odd... To play, it feels off-putting, but it's just so... charming! I like how the Koopas turn to bombs, the fire flower that just bounces off everything, and how the worlds are based on real locales! Also Daisy <3

Sorry Gyruss, I just... couldn't get behind the tube view and movement controls. I only beat this with the Konami code, but I can't say I didn't try! Made it all the way to Venus without it.

Okay, I am a little salty at this game cause I kinda screwed myself over on my first attempt. BUT my second attempt went much better. I found the character portraits charming and it was nice and satisfying to cut down enemy units, but WOW this game is clunky. Clunky and... also very fun to break! Yeah I abused stat boosters. This game could've really benefited from some more music, though...

It's such a charming game, I'm an EarthBound simp so I was bound to enjoy it. (pun unintentional) Something about the simpler, more open-ended world felt so... enticing to run around in, even if that running around led to fights every 2 steps. Also Teddy solos Teddy solos Teddy solos

SUPER over-hated game in my opinion. It's different, and not quite as good as the first one, but I still think it's a fun time. The combat has got to be one of the deepest and most fleshed out systems of the whole generation. I didn't find it as cryptic as the first, and I enjoyed the more diverse soundtrack. It's still unbalanced with difficulty, and the lives system is still stupid, but I don't think this game is half bad at all.

Yeah, yeah... one of the greatest of all time. Well, it's got that rep for a reason! It's so fun to play this game, the power ups are great, the stages are (mostly) short n sweet! It feels so ahead of its time. Now, it could've really used a battery save or a password, cause warping's for C H U M P S. (that was a joke don't mald at me)

I like this one slightly less than the original, but it's still a fun time. I've beaten it on a Mario only run and a Peach only run, and both times were super cool.

I've beaten this game like... too many times. It's not for everyone it seems, but it's just so nice to just run through in 30-40 minutes. I dunno! I just like this one more than I should, I feel like lol

This game is FIRE. The music is FIRE, the graphics are FIRE, the levels and stages, and bosses are FIRE. It just does what it sets out to do and it does it WELL. The only part of the game that I don't like is that stupid section with the mouths on the floor. That part's kinda cheese but everything else is great please go play this please.

This game for me is the epitome of mid. I don't really remember the music, and I found the weapon swapping to be awkward. But I did like the graphics, and I think it's kinda a neat little take on shmups but... yeah, not anything special.

Now THIS was a hidden gem I'm glad I found. The gameplay is simple, but tight and challenging. The music kicks ass, and it's so satisfying to drop a swarm of enemies with the rockets. It's not very long, and the bosses leave a bit to be desired but I actually like this one quite a bit.

This game does a lot right, but it's also got some glaring flaws. The knockback is insane, the enemies constantly respawn, the final boss sends you back too far, yada yada. But god dang, this game is just plain cool.

This game is so much fun! It's also one of the first retro games I ever played.

Hear me out. This game is flawed... like, heavily flawed. It's got no i-frames. It needs to be beat in one sitting. It's cryptic as hell. Even then... it's kinda got this charm to it. This has to be one of the first ever Metroidvanias to actually... exist! I like its setting, a musical kingdom. And I found it to be kinda relaxing to methodically clear rooms and progress after a tough boss fight. That being said, I can't exactly call this a good game, or recommend it to the average gamer. I just think it's a little over-hated.

Now this is a cool game. Even without a map, I still find it quite enjoyable. It's so atmospheric and it's so satisfying to just grab all those upgrades. I did achieve the best ending in this one.
