one of my favorite games ever; not my favorite game, or even favorite souls game, but its a masterpiece nonetheless

after playing through it about a billion times, vanilla just feels like the most boring thing ever, and none of the updates since like 2016 have been able to make it enjoyable for me. modded is fun though.

i liked the horror vibe of re7 so i thought i wouldnt like this game, but i ended up playing this over and over and over for like 2 weeks after it released. its sick.

a generic star wars plot, generic tomb raider reboot/uncharted style traversal, poorly implemented souls like mechanics and combat slapped on top. why do people like this game? im genuinely asking, because i see absolutely nothing in it despite going into it excited, originally.

i played this game very late, so yknow. i think its a game thats so praised because of how it pushed the medium forward, not because of how well it holds up nowadays. its still a good game that i think anyone (that likes these kinds of games) will enjoy, i just wouldnt expect anything groundbreaking.

neat game, came out, did its thing. the gimmick was cool and all, but it being so short didnt really leave much room for much to happen in it to get you too invested. but thats probably the fine because i think a full 10+ hour game of this would have been way too much anyway. and its free.

this GAME. i just want more of it so bad. the story is much more engaging than i expected it to be, the gameplay is so incredibly satisfying, the art style is cool, the soundtrack is amazing, this is pretty much everything i wanted hotline miami to be and more.
