Ready for my biggest hot take?
This is the best FF game, ever.

I'd definitely watch this if it was a movie.

Still playing it as of this review but this game is pretty good, i appreciate that they improved the combat because it was poor, i like Hawai and the minigames are fun, i just hope it gets better in story because so far its a massive step down from even Yakuza 5 and that one sucked.

One of the greatest FPS ever made, super fun to run around and shoot aliens in this but the biggest kino is the level design, nothing better than exploring a dense level with a spectacular music track in the background, gimme more of this Nintendo, remaster the rest of the trio.

Easily the most disappointing of the top FF games, IX had a good start but it quickly shoehorn itself into this terribly paced mess, the gameplay is extremely shallow and a step down from 8, good thing X improved that part.
2 points for the awesome soundtrack though, they surely nailed that.

Shame that Bioware peaked way too early.

This is easily the best Jrpg ever made, in a genre where gameplay is generally shallow and feels like an afterthought and the pacing is all over the place, Chrono Trigger manages to circle around most of the genre common problems to create a memorable and well paced experience.
Music is god tier holy shit.
Played on emulator.

Agent 47 is my favorite fashion model.

I replayed this game last year to see if i was too harsh on it on release and i wasn't, its still awful, shallow, pretentious and incredibly preachy.

Combat showed a lot of promise early, but as the game goes by you realize every character eventually becomes the same once you unlock the sphere grid.
I still liked the gameplay, dare i say its among the best for a Jrpg which are known for their awful gameplay, but the story wasn't as good as i expected it, i cant stand the villain and the themes go from religion and spirituality to all over the place in the last chapters.

One of the rare Jrpgs where i felt the battle system had promising depth, sadly the story goes nowhere and none of the choices matter, its super shallow in that regard, and the combat while having a decent amount of depth into it, still feels monotone and shallow, it discourage creativity and tactics and instead encourages streamlined mechanics and stat checks, eventually i finished it and had a good time, but looking back at this, its absolutely not a good game, middle of the road.

Characters are a hollow husk, they have the personality of a rock, this i guess was one of my reasons for me not caring about them, and game has way too much reptition, not only the combat system is slow and lacks creativity it also forced me to fight the same trash mobs until i get to the bosses, instead of artificially bloating the game with trash poorly designed boring encounters they could've at least cut that and put more time into polishing the gameplay.

Ahead of its time, Kojima peaked here.

Best of all Time - Ultimate Edition.

Played this back in 2012 and liked it but it wasn't until i replayed it again last year that i knew it was a goddamn masterpiece, the level design and the gameplay are sublime with a great story to boast.
Just amazing and creative, arkane is dead, rip.
