I played it for several hours but, apart from several new superpowers and a new UI, I couldn't see any improvements over the first game. The stealth mechanic became kind of BS. The swordswinging is still terrible. And for some reason, the game just feels boring after all.

Played for a couple of hours but, the game is just way too boring.

A nice 8h game with a quite interesting story. Feels like you're playing an interactive comic book.

Flying around a solar system and baking some marshmallow by the campfire are good. It's just that most of obstacles in this game seem BS like some rocks and thorny plants. They make me thing most of the obstacles would be overcome if the character carried a machete or a pickaxe.

2018

The best art design I have ever seen in a video game and probably the best I'll ever see. It's even hard to describe this as a video game. Rather, as a work of art. Rather, as a true masterpiece.

Played the pixel remaster version. Compared to the OG FFVII, this entry in the franchise follows a more direct approach in the overall game design. This means that the lack of mini games and earlier access to the quality of life features such as free roaming in the open world, make it easier to advance in the game and better follow up the story. Although I love VII's story much more, I can't deny the fact that FFVI provides a smoother and unpuzzled experience.

As someone who adored DSR, I hated this game. It's not a bad game at all. The combat is slightly more fluid and the customisation options offer much more variety. In addition, some bosses are pretty cool. However, x3 more enemies in each area, the excessive amount of ambushes and traps, at least half of the chests being mimics and so on make this game easily overwhelming and even, annoying at some point. It feels like this game is solely made for people to rage on Twitch. When it comes to the original fanbase in the era, the game provides tons of fan service mainly from the first game even though according to the lore, it takes place many years later. However, even this fails to save the day.

2020

I played around 1/3 of this game. Even if it's not targeted for sensitive people, the story seems to be great and you will find yourselves attached to Aubrey, Kel, Hero and Basil at some point. However, although I'm a big fan of the most outstanding games of the genre such as Undertale and the OG Final Fantasy VII, the game is so boring. The pacing in this game is just so slow that even a great story doesn't suffice to save the day.

Thanks to its great story, story telling and quality of life improvements over the previous 2 games, it has become one of my favourite FPS-es alongside Bioshock Infinite. Some people don't like it due to the new crafting system and its semi-open-world and say that it's nothing like previous games. But believe me, the Novossibirsk chapter feels a lot like the first game. So I believe they decided to go this way just to remain loyal to the book instead of getting into a research for marjinal ideas out of the blue. Last but not least, the finale was very emotional and heartbreaking.

I can absolutely recommend.

Although it's apparently the shortest Yakuza game to date, the game is absolutely fantastic. The story basically tells what happened to Kiryu around the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. While it feels quite good most of the time, the ending was so sentimental and heartbreaking. Poor Kiryu...

When it comes to combat, the new Agent style brings marvels against huge groups while the Yakuza style (like several other features I'll mention) mostly brings you back to Yakuza 0 or Kiwami again which I've truly missed. In addition, they also kept the heat mode from Yakuza 6 which, gives a great advantage against bosses in this game. On the other hand, bringing back many things such as Pocket Circuit, skill upgrade through money etc. makes you relive Yakuza 0 and Kiwamis in a very good way. If this is a fan service, then Square Enix should play it and see how it's done. cough Final Fantasy VII Remake cough

Lastly, the substories were also great. At least 3-4 of them contain big references to Yakuza Kiwami 2. While one of them hosts a sweet crossover, there is even a substory where ChatGPT is satirised just like how the same thing happened to Siri back in Yakuza 6.

I think it's a good game but it gets really overwhelming in the second half. Enemies are just bullet sponges with infinite health and ammo alongside being acrobatic. When it comes to the story, you gotta check on YT to learn the lore like I did, as it's impossible to lend an ear to the in-game records while fighting against 100 op enemies at the same time.

The combat is one of the greatest in the series. But firstly, as someone who was subject to bullying in the past, I find the way the story handles the concept of bullying abysmal and naive. On the other hand, side activies are basically the same as the previous while the amount of side stories are much lower. Given that it also uses the same maps as Yakuza Like A Dragon, it is clear that there is not too much effort put in development. Therefore, I don't see the point of this game costing 60€ while its predecessor costs 40 and offers more content.

Overall, I felt like I played Yakuza 4 with much better combat and better graphics all over again given many similarities such as the snake style, constant blocking by enemies and the final chapter where a million guys are spawned at the same time and bosses are demi gods.

One of the most addictive games I have ever played. Of course, the stylistic world design and the its right and sweet amount of stealth-action are the most essential factors making me say that. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the increasing amount of annoying bugs glitches as I proceeded.

One of the best stories I've seen in a video game. Despite getting spoiled about many things in advance (thanks internet!), Final Fantasy VII still managed to touch me with its amazing story and storytelling. On the down side, the PC controls are super janky and after a while, it gets overwhelming to encounter enemies every 5-10 seconds.
