More and more I think about this, and on a replay, I find A Realm Reborn rather lovable. It’s a simple Final Fantasy story, it feels like a throwback to the origins of the series, whether that be 1 or 3, it has that very same ‘big adventure’ feeling, and there’s nothing more heartwarming than going around just being a nice little guy, completing side quests and helping people. There’s a magic in simplicity and I think ARR encapsulates that.

What they don’t tell you is that this is actually the best one

Really is crazy just how phenomenal this game is. Heartfelt, joyful, and typical of the Final Fantasy series; full of the love of life.

Very little negative to say about this. Simply delightful.

kinda sucks compared to the og, dropped after around 7 hours i cba

yeah i thought i could possibly like this one but goodness gracious every 5 steps a battle, the game would be so much more tolerable if the steam version had the encounters off button

A fantasy come to life. A Legend in the most pure and simple sense of the word.

playing this made me want to commit acts of terror sometimes but very solid writing i loved it

feels a bit half baked in most areas, but the pages are one of the coolest storytelling ideas i’ve seen in a long while, and the dissonance the live action TV shows creates pulls the atmosphere together fantastically.

and he does the fucking face man he does the face

This is only a review for Zombies and not the other modes I could not care less.

BO3 zombies is one of the coolest experiences I’ve had playing a game, cracking the ciphers, finding new easter eggs, putting together the story, learning to love these new characters, what a journey. Storytelling wise it stands by itself as the most interesting way to deliver its story in the media I’ve experienced. That dates back to W@W too, the theories, the pieces we put together and broke apart, it was a game that created a community, unlike any other I have seen. Fantastic, fantastic game, I cannot sing its praises enough.

The first half of this game is near and aesthetically it’s kinda fucking awesome but good lord does the story go to shit it is not very good. Aesthetic carries this heavy

kiryu and the orphanage is some of the best stuff in this series and anyone who disagrees hasn’t brushed their teeth in over a week

yknow this one doesn’t hit me as hard on a replay, i dont think it’s quite as gripping as even 1, nor does it get my brain ticking and the emotions flowing like 2, it’s much more simple and to the point, and that’s fine, but the thrill on a replay isn’t there, which is the biggest draw the first time through, and it loses that imo. i don’t quite like the character writing here as much either, i think it works fantastic as a cog in the machine of the metal gear franchise, but on its own it doesn’t hit me like that, which is unfortunate, it’s the lowest part of mgs on a replay but even still that first play through was fantastic and i love it for that, even if i don’t feel the same a second time through.
