2021

This game is so fucking innovative I'll have to write a fucking 40 paragraph essay on it in the future but for now I'm just putting my rating.

Edit: I've completed the abandoned build but not 1.0 so I'll do that first.

Really fucked up controls wise compared to a traditional Mario game but I like it. Probably my favorite Mario engine ever.

1993

Great game but it's starting to show it's age.
Better enemy and weapon placement in this one than it's sequel.
Personally I am not a fan of these types of like maze-shooters but it can be fun sometimes.
It is not very satisfying to kill monsters in this it feels more like a fight for survival.
The sound design in this is not my favorite.

Arguably the most influential ARPG of all time. It almost never gets old.
Only real issue with this game for me is some of the puzzles are brain-dead easy but it's the first game so maybe that's why.
Also you cannot walk diagonally but that's not really too bad.
This game has some of the best enemy design in all of video games and it lays the foundation for every Zelda afterwards.
The translation on the NES version is a bit rough and by a bit rough I mean a lot rough.
There's a lot of ways to play this but my preferred way is either on NES or Mesen or with Zelda Classic which is a fan-made re-implementation of the game for DOS and Windows computers that allows for custom content and mods.
There's also many many romhacks for this game if you get bored.
Personally I'd play the first and second quests before moving onto any romhacks.
Zelda II is better tho lololol

I've tried to complete this game 17 times but I just do not like it. It's a fine game but it is not for me and it it not Zelda.

Probably the definitive way to play OOT, just don't touch the Majora's Mask port!

This game is funny, that's the best praise I can give it.

Actually the greatest 3D platformer ever made.
First time Nintendo used an orchestra and hit the ball out of the park.
Masterful art direction with a blend of realism and cartoon-esque visuals.
Some of the tightest and snappiest controls I've ever used in a game to this day.
Some of the most interesting and varied levels and mechanics, each galaxy feels unique with it's own spin on the formula and it's own power-ups and inhabitants.
One of the greatest plot-lines in a mainline Mario game.
Some of the greatest cinematography in all of gaming.
The only issue with this game is that it may make you motion sick.

I have replayed this game 20+ times and it has never gotten boring.

If you like Multiplayer games, then this may be the most important game in history for you.

Extremely influential game, unfortunately very short. Creates the game-mechanics that go onto inspire YS as well as The Legend of Zelda, probably the first "true" ARPG, recommended if you have patience.

This was the first game I tested on my 4000 dollar gaming PC. Need to revisit it.
