This is when The Legend of Zelda really comes forward with its own identity! The dungeons, the controls, the puzzles, and the boss fights are all amazingly fun in their own right. But it’s also when the world of Hyrule becomes a living place rather than a series of cryptic challenges. A must play if you have not played it already!
This is my favorite game of 2023, and Peppino Spaghetti is my favorite video game character of said year! Seeing him smash, dash, and suplex his way through the titular tower to save his restaurant while being an absolutely anxious wreck makes him strangely empathetic. Also, the visual design is delightfully weird, the platforming is easy to learn and hard to master, the timed final moments of every level makes stressed in a positive way, the music is spectacular, and the boss fights are unique and challenging at the same time! This is a must buy game!

This is an improvement to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in every way! If it were simply that game and more of it, that would have been enough! But what Hidemaro Fujibayashi did was expand upon the abilities that Link can accomplish so that players are more free to experiment and let their creative juices flow! Also, the story is way more impactful and nearly brought a tear to my eye at the final cutscene (pun semi-intentional). The temples are more fleshed out, the sky islands and depths add an extra layer of challenge, and the bosses pack a total punch, especially dragon vs. dragon final boss with Zelda and Ganondorf! A must buy for any Switch owner!
