This is basically "scrabble" mixed with light RPG mechanics that make the game very interesting and invite the player to actually use different strategies depending on the type of level and enemies. You can equip/level-up different types of weapons, book spells, potions, etc. that can aid you in different ways depending on the level's objectives and enemies.

This game is very fun and perfectly suited for quick pick-up-and-play sessions. The only big con I was able to find so far is that the game can become quite grindy as you progress and get to the advanced levels.

DKC2 managed to impress and improve many aspects over the original DKC. Graphics received a slight improvement and added a pirate themed aesthetic to the game. Soundtrack is timeless, courtesy of perhaps the best work done by David Wise. Gameplay wise the game features a new character in Dixie Kong, allowing players to float during jumps to have more precision in platforming sections.

Even though this is objectively a better game than the first DKC, the original remains my favorite for what it meant to me at the time but I won't take anything away from this game. It's yet another side scrolling masterpiece by Rareware.

Finished both R-Type I and II. Never really gave these games a chance back in the day so decided to play them through the PS Now service (PS3 version). These are brutally hard shmups that require a ton of repetition to learn enemy patterns and attacks in order to beat the game normally without abusing infinite lives/continue. Interesting space theme.

Very entertaining card deck-building game with turn-based combat that uses the aesthetics and universe of the Steamworld series.

Story mode is fairly enjoyable with decent character development. Gameplay is fun encouraging players to find the best builds for each character in your party.

Capcom once again set the example on how a remake should be done after their 2002 masterpiece of Resident Evil remake. This time around, they took upon the task of remaking RE2 which in itself is a much more ambitious game since it takes place in a bigger scale (Raccoon City as opposed to just a mansion) and even took upon the challenge of recreating the environments by converting gameplay from fixed camera angles to third person.

Graphics are outstanding and part of the new physics engine Capcom developed. RE2 remake stays faithful (for the most part) of the sceneries, characters, enemies and story that made RE2 an acclaimed hit when it was released in 1998.

This is a quality remake and an overall unforgettable experience for RE fans. A must-own game.

Played through the story mode and it was interesting. Full disclosure: I could never get into the Tekken games and its unique fighting mechanics but this one pulled me through the entirety of the single-player campaign which was nice but not enough for me to fall in love with the series.

Interesting physics-based game with odd characters and unique humor. The game has some strong and weak parts but overall is decent and at the same is fairly short so worth a playthrough if you are mildly interested in it.

Played this game day one when it came out and it was fairly fun to the point I went for all the achievements. The issue is that the game felt like it lacked content fairly quickly and no additional content was released soon after launch. However, for what it's worth I enjoyed it and put over 20 hours.

Perhaps my favorite Remedy game to date, Control provides an intriguing setting, characters and story that keep the player engaged. The best part however is the gameplay, where you will be using superpowers that defy physics as well as over-the-top weapons.

Exploration within the Bureau is surprisingly fun and interesting despite the overall monotone and federal government office feeling the game has. Enemies and bosses are varied and can be very challenging.

Fantastic game considering the size of the developer. Graphics are pretty good and are enhanced by the unique setting and color palettes that were used by the developer to convey (for the most part) the devastation that is ongoing in the game due to the black plague.

Gameplay is interesting, mixing stealth, combat, and using the environment (and rodents) to your advantage to advance through the levels. Puzzles are sprinkled throughout the game as well.

The story is very solid for the most part although it loses strength towards the end of the game. All in all this is a very solid game worth checking out.

Fun and a solid entry in the Fatal Fury fighting game series. Played this through the digital PS4 version of the game included in the Fatal Fury collection Volume 2. Terry Bogard rocks.

Very fun and replayable arcade on-rails shooter. The game has not aged that well in terms of graphics and animations but it still offers a ton of fun gameplay with the zombie-themed enemies. The shotgun is great. Voice acting is cheesy and also great.

Loved how improved the graphics were in this entry compared to older games. Watching mission replays with different camera angles was very fun. In terms of gameplay, it was solid and fun although admittedly I played this with the casual controls scheme but still managed to have fun.

The story was in my opinion on the weak side but the gameplay and great graphics made up for a really fun game.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is one of my favorite entries in the Fire Emblem (FE) series. I really enjoyed the theme of having three different houses to choose from (I went with Golden Deer and started a second playthrough with Black Eagle).

The standout turn-based strategy gameplay is back with excellent character models and animations. Monastery/School sections were fun to train your characters but got a bit tiring towards the latter half of the game. The story was very good touching on subjects of religion and politics and definitely warrants other playthroughs to see the story from the perspective of the other Houses.

Because of its excellent gameplay, updated graphics and animations, broad variety of characters and interesting story, this is definitely one of the best put together FE games and a must-have for Switch owners.

Fantastic Indie bullet hell shooter with great graphics, soundtrack and performance. Love the ridiculous point scoring system and non stop action. Hard as hell but still fun and a must have in your Steam library if you enjoy bullet hell shooters.
