The original DMC is incredibly jank and has been vastly improved by later entries, but the original still has a strange charm to it. Plus, it's short enough that you can beat the entire game in about an hour on the normal difficulty so you might as well try it.

I don't want to play League of Legends again.

This is an accurate representation of the stock market.

Sailing is great for chilling out, but the great sea is unfortunately pretty barren. Dungeons follow the typical Zelda formula while being a little on the easier side.

I like the music and general aesthetic of the game, but the battle system is certified kusoge.

Mostly forgettable; usurped by 3D World.

I put off Spelunky for years because it looked uninteresting at a glance. It turns out that not only was I wrong, but it's the most fun I've had with the roguelike genre (prior to Spelunky 2).

This GBA version is like night and day compared to the Xbox/GCN/PS2 Version. Go play that one instead.

The fact that I played this so much as a kid kind of worries me.

I wish that you were able to explore more than Peach's Castle in the present era. Time portals effectively make each area of the game feel disconnected from each other. Still fun, but not quite as strong as Superstar Saga or Bowser's Inside Story.

The map design is this game's biggest pitfall, but the vibes are immaculate; it has a simple yet effective story with an absolutely incredible soundtrack and art style. Easy beginner rec for the series.

It's good for a first time playthrough. The gameplay and art style of maps are a step down from previous entries. Due to the importance of lessons between missions, I find it difficult wanting to replay.

The Lanayru Desert is this game's saving grace. Motion controls could be replaced with button mappings. The Sand Sea is an excellent moment in an otherwise okay game.

Enjoyable for what it is, but largely overshadowed by other entires in the 2D series. The poker minigame and multiplayer battle were a large time sink for me.
