Pros: Enjoyable dungeon exploration gameplay. Good graphics that have aged well for the 32-bit era. Interesting puzzles that really make you think. Interesting story about spirit posession and leads into Shining Force III's story. References to Japanese mythology, specifically the Sword/Mirror/Jewel of Amaterasu. Good music. Cons: Characters have little persononality/dialogue. Random slowdown in some battles, I'd estimate single digit FPS.

Overall this is a really good SRPG. I have cleared the light path in L1 and Light/True Light/Empire/Independent paths in L2, and have clocked in over 100 hours.
Pros:Original art by Satoshi Uruhshrara is goddess-tier. Like there are some sexy waifus ;-) and ridiculous but awesome shoulder pads for either gender. Great color contrast and thick dark lines... but if you're a pleb who doesn't get art and the concept of color contrast, you can always use the new crappy designs if you want ;-p
Character personalities are mostly likable and believable. Many of the "bad guys" aren't that evil when you learn more about them. Select any music style from any release of Langrisser.
Deep strategic combat with huge armies to manage. Of note is the mercenary system. 1 battle save (I would have preferred 2 but 1 is way better than none.) Branching storyline with differing objectives in battle depending on which faction you side with. You can grind if you want...
Cons:...but there is WAY too much grinding to get the perfect epilogue for all characters. 100 kills is doable but hard, especially when some characters join late game.
Mercenary AI is bad. Troops move in order of commander, but this often leads to Commanders that join later getting their troops cut off due to crowding. Also they can't understand things like walls and other unpassable roadblocks. This can be solved by manually moving all mercs but that takes a lot of time. Minor Characters/generic troops don't have the option for Urushihara art.

I'm claiming both Gene Pod ladies as my waifus...
For real, this is a great game who's developers clearly did a lot of research into ancient civilizations. Puzzles were hard when I played on Win 3.1 as a kid, but as an adult on Win 10 they are easier. The only bang-your head-against-a-wall puzzle is the stupid Anasazi arrow puzzle, which is so randomized. Otherwise it has a nice difficulty which makes you think, but isn't too hard. I owe my own interest in the Ancient Egyptians/Mayans to this game.

It's completely ridiculous, but so much fun. Basically this game ammounts to the hypothetical fights in prehistory and mythology eg "Who would win: 4 T-Rexes with lasers vs 2 Dragons with a miniguns and shotguns?" This mode eventually got old, but that's why there are challenges where you fight pre-made enemies with limited funds to use on your army. The descriptions for challenges are often hillarious. Plus there is prehistoric soccer. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the tower defense mode. Short and sweet.

Overall enjoyable like the first Parodius on Saturn. However, the added special objectives make this one harder. Still has that wacky surreal humor, so I still reccomend.

RTS meets RPG combat!
Pros: really nice character art. Interesting and unique combat. 8 main chars have mostly good writing. Working Designs pop culture jokes/ grammatical standards.
Cons: Every other character than the 8 warriors of the Dragon Force have no relevance to the plot. Eg Cinna fights for Junon, Manoa fights for Teiris, they're sisters, but this relationship is never explored. The concept of "conqueor everyone" is a bit unrealistic when you all fight together at the end. Couldn't they just make some sort of Proto-U.N.? Less of an issue in Teiris's route which I played, and you can negoitiate more. A permanent mid battle save would be ideal. DF2 has this, but that game has many other issues. Overall the combat/art/music is good, but the story/characters are underdeveloped.

What could possibly be better than Darkstalkers 2? ...Darkstalkers 3 where you fight two rounds in a row with one huge life bar, sans a break? FRICK YEAH! Like in D2, I cleared 5-star out of 8 difficulty as Morrigan.

I'm usually bad at fighting games, but this one was actually a lot of fun. I think it's the larger amount of ranged attacks in this than say Street Fighter, and the fact that it's 2D. Cleared it on 5-star (out of 8) difficulty as Morrigan. Phobos was harder than Pyron ironically.

Time travel the point and click adventure game with h-scenes! Play the TLWiki verison on Windows/PC-98/Vita via fan translation only. Remake and either anime are bad.
Pros: Amazing soundtrack and art. Insane story that's hard to put into words. Bascially, you plays a pervert delinquent, who has to solve all these riddles that will lead him to his father who vanished. It may be an Eroge, but there's more mind fucking than actual fucking going on here. Each route has it's own "theme". Eriko/Mitsuki is "horror", Ayumi is "depression", Mio is "Archaelogy/adventure" Kanna/Kaori is "Mystery". The eiplogue cranks everything up to 11. Sayless is best waifu. Yu-no herself is also quite likable. Takuya doesn't really grow due to the gameplay mechanic of time resetting itself, but I liked his "chivalrous pervert" nature anyway. Time/dimensional travelling gameplay is very unique.
Cons: (minor) hard to complete without a guide, (minor) incest, though it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, (major) has a gratuitous BDSM scene and implied cannabalism, (major) the epilogue nerfs the point and click part, despite tying the narrative together.

I loved this game as a kid on my first PC. It helped that I am also a fan of the Dinotopia books Going back to it on DOSBox-X, it has not aged well. Controls are cumbersome. Eg when forging metal with Tok Timbu, it is so easy to click the wrong area, which trigger Tok to give me a voiced, unskippable lecture. This makes what should be a simple task take over 5 minutes. The art is nice. Voice acting is overall good-ok, but again, there should be a way to skip it as mentioned above. Music is mediocre.

Time travel: The RPG!
Pros: Great cast of characters. Really interesting time-traveling plot, with many different unique locales such as: A prehistory with badass dinosaurs and hot cavewomen, a middle ages witha human-demon war going on, a post-apocalyptic wastland, and an ancient but corrupt magic civilization whose architecture looks vaguely Indian, complete with a Sitar theme. Amazing music, and fun tuan based combat, Dual/triple techs are a good idea that should be used more.
Cons: Chrono is a silent protagonist. Anoying QTEs galore! Many people blame FF7 for this, but it really started in CT. My hands hurt after them.

Note: This review covers Lunar 2 on SCD and PS1. Overall I prefer Lunar: The Silver Star on SEGA CD, but this game is also highly reccomended.
Pros: (compared to Eternal Blue on SCD): No magic EXP.
Pros: (In general): Great cast of characters. Lucia x Hiro is mostly a good pairing. Mystere is one of the best comic relief characters, ever, it's JUUUSTICE!. Enjoyable cast of characters overall. Many emotional moments. Zophar is one hell of a final boss fight. Many funny anime-esque hijinks (your opinions may vary here.) Great translation and voice acting like most Working Designs games. I dare say Truitt's Ghaleon may have more memorable dialogue her than in the first game, despite his reduced plot-importance. Beautiful character art. Every character has unique skills. Simple but enjoyable turn based combat, with a range stat not usually found in other RPGs.
Cons: Lucia is AI-controlled for the entire game. Everyone has their own goals to some extent, but you can still control Jean/Lemia/Ronfar/Leo's actions, so I can't see why you can't control Lucia's actions after the incident in the Zulan mountains. Zophar is a generic antagonist compared to L1's Ghaleon. Kinda cringe-worthy power of humanity speeches.(cons compared to SCD version only): Grainy FMV unless using a high-end CRT, also fewer FMV scenes.

This game is crazy fun. I've never done drugs, but if I did I would imagine it would be similar, so this game is my anti-drug, XD. You fight such diverse enemies as Uncle Sam in bird form, a mermaid who attacks with ”ホ”s/katakaka "Ho"s, a giant pair of dentures with monkeys running across the teeth. 2-player is highly reccomended.

One of the best RPGs, no games of all time.
Pros: Amazing cast of playable characters. Out of 14, 10 have really deep and emotional stories. Celes has her own opera!!! CelesxLocke is a great ship. And the villain Kefka is one of the most threatening and hillarious antagonists I've see. He actually destroys the world and laughs about it, take that Sehpy! OST is phenomenal. In additon to the aforementioned opera, Danding Mad is one hell fo a complex Final Boss theme. Basic but enjoyable gameplay. Great art design.
Cons: Celes and Terra aren't real.

I actually played this on a PS2 Genesis classics collection, but whatever.
Pros: Chaz x Rika is a really good ship. Story was really interesting, it evolves from a simple side job to something far grander. All characters are likable too.I liked Chaz and Rune's comic rivalry. Great OST. Nice references to PS1 and PS2.
Cons: Really hard, I had access to save states, and even then I often died. Confusing spell names. It's not easy to ressurect characters in a dungeon.
