A mixed bag.
I have grown up playing animal crossing games since the gamecube. I love this series to death. I was so excited for this game. And I do love it! I didn't play 750hrs of a game I hated. I love the new ways of renovating your island, the new furniture sets, how easy it is to decorate houses, FENCES.!!!!!!! So many little things that were missing from previous games were added and I love it. The easy acess for QR codes and peoples logs is fantastic. The character design is fun and better then ever as well, really letting us express ourselves. The graphics as well are lovely
Now onto the cons 😞
The chatacters have been stripped of any personality they had. Honestly its quite depressing having them repeat the same conversation 20 times. They got rid of the little side quests villagers would give you, the quarrels villagers would have. The onrs that genuinely were mean and had to warm up to, making you feel a connection. The characters might as well be cute dolls to be honest
The lack of buildings and building upgrades, as well as the lack of iconic villagers is straight up sad. No club LOL, GracieGracie, no store upgrades, the random villagers that would appear in your town sometimes. Its sad. I understand the island is supposed to be "campy" and "secluded" but this ended up being extremely detrimental to the game. Should have been a beach town instead so it is not so secluded. I would have loved making a cute town square with all the buildings but theres only 3.
The lack of updates is disheartening. ACNH was SOOO popular I dont understand why they stopped supporting it. The DLC is good and fun but they could have added so much more. So many furniture series cut, coukd have added more villagers, buildings, upgrades to the island. I also miss the old streetpass thing where you could collect other peoples houses. Now I know switch doesnt have streetpass but idk I feel like something to that effect could have been done.
Also the lack of co op minigames is terrible. And co op in general takes AGES if you have more then one person. Why does everyone have to watcu the arrival. Its actually horrible and should have been fixed.
All these qualms and I still love the game I just hope they step up on the next one. I could list a lot more but they lost a lot of the charm and I hope they can find it again

peak. actually peak. the first game is phoenminal. and while the second game has some lower points it all works out so well I don't care. The characters are all so iconic, loveable, quirky, and impressionable. The way it all wraps up in the 3rd game is amazing. This is one of my favorite series ever

genuinely crazy how good this game is. every single case is super good and really delves into the characters introduced to us beforehand. the way it all comes together is peace ace attorney goodness, and its all so satisfying watching the villian get played. the character writing is probably some of the best this series has done aside from other select cases

So first, this is my first roguelike game I have ever played. So brand new on that front. Also a huge learning curve for me. Took me almost 100 runs just to get to the "end" but after that I consistently got to the end lots of times.
I love how the story slowly unfolds, how the characters interact, and the relationships form each run. It's super fun and makes the deaths feel less tedious when something new is going to be revealed.
Downside is that it can take AGES to get the correct dialogue to happen, meaning you can be stuck plotwise forever until you get graced by RNG. Otherwise this game is super fun and every run is different and exciting

I never played the originals so this was my first time playing. Knew spoilers anyway unfortunately but everything still hit the same and I'm truly left empty. Fantastic game and probably the most tight knit Persona story out of the three ive played (P3,P4,P5) I'm happy its getting the awnser and really wished it had FEMC though, SEGA and their stinginess
