Outer Wilds
2019
eu me sinto burro jogando esse jogo.

I think the early Final Fantasy games might just not be for me and that's okay!
I definitely liked it more than FF7. Some of the characters are really interesting (mostly Vivi, but I liked Freya before the plot forgot about her) and the art style is super cozy, but beyond that everything just seems really generic and contrived. Sub-plots are picked up and then dropped without warning to the point where I had no idea what I was actually even doing.
The battle system is so boring. ATB is awful, Trance is awful, the loading screens before battles are awful; combat was just genuinely unenjoyable as a whole. I slogged through it for the narrative, but even that reached a point where it just became stale for me.
Maybe one day I'll eventually find a mainline Final Fantasy game that I like as much as FF14.

WIKTOBER LOG #0019 - FATAL FRAME II
You need a PhD in ancient japanese architecture to understand what counts as a door in this game and also you need a PhD in being fucking dumb to understand why enemies have so much hp that you stop being scared of them before you empty a single health bar. You also need a PhD in being smart to solve the book puzzle in less than 1 hour if you miss the stupid button on the floor alright
Having a horror game mechanic that literally requires you to get as close as possible to getting jump scared is genius, and having it take place through polaroids ensures instantly that your game will have aesthetics (in tumblr font). That's awesome
When I played Fatal Frame last Wiktober, I was quite annoyed at how stupid and annoying it was. It then proceeded to live rent free in my head for 12 straight months. It occupies a disproportionate amount of space in my mind for how not special I found it. I was less annoyed by this one, maybe because I have grown more decidedly more autistic in this space of time, but it worked nonetheless.
>True ending only unlockable on hard mode
>Hard mode not selectable at first
Ok I'm mad about that

Mortal Kombat 1
2023
New Release Review:
Mortal Kombat 1 is a successful reboot that allows for new players to join in on the long-lasting franchise. Unfortunately, the game does suffer from a weak start, occasional bad voice acting, and an ending that while fun does not give us a full conclusion to its story. The fun gameplay and campy writing make the experience enjoyable for new and returning players. This game has a wide range of characters, so everyone can find one they enjoy playing, regardless of skill level. Even with a few bugs, it does not overshadow the fact that Mortal Kombat 1 is easily one of the most graphically impressive fighting games to date. As said before, this is the most accessible Mortal Kombat game. If you are seeking a serious, high tier story, well, this game is not it. However, if you are seeking a “it’s so dumb but fun bloody blockbuster experience”, well Mortal Kombat 1 is definitely for you. As a result, I give Mortal Kombat 1’s story a 7 out of 10.
