Thank you, Supergiant games, for my life

Super close to reaching the nirvana of GOAT cozy/chill games like Stardew Valley, but it's just a bit too shallow and hand-holdy to really achieve that status. That core loop of go diving for fish -> nighttime restaurant managing -> diving is really strong, but the further you get into the game, the more stuff takes away from that loop. Story quests that are... just kinda fine, side content that doesn't add a ton to the experience, and not quite enough ways to really optimize your whole experience like in the Best of the Best. Think it's worth trying out though.

Puzzles in AAA video games be like:

You know how a lot of AAA games are trying to be three different games at the same time and every single one of them is trying to be the exact same three games? Humanity is what you'd get if a studio tried to be three different games at once but chose three distinct, but sometimes conflicting, games, to make something altogether new and exciting. Not all of its ideas completely work, but those that do really come together to make something unique and worthwhile.

8 years for a sauceless remake of Pikmin 2

Now that's what I call video games

L + RATIO + SANDBLAST + NO METER + YOU'RE IN BURNOUT + BEAST MODE BABY

Instantly understandable, constantly joyful, and unabashedly silly. Genuinely one of the best games ever made

Sega 2/2 for turning April Fools ideas into great games

I made a giant mistake playing this after RE4make cause that game not only feels better but does a better job re-imagining something for 2023. Like I'm genuinely astounded that they didn't tone down the blaring trumpets every time a necromorph pops out of a vent. It's beyond obnoxious and continuously kills the atmosphere the rest of the game builds up.

But hey you can only play RE4 & RE4make so many times, so it's worth playing if you need to juice up on 3rd person shooter gameplay.

Ahhhhh what a blast. Easily the best gameplay Fire Emblem has had in a decade, if not ever. Writing's hit or miss, the cast is incredibly charming and fun but the main story is incredibly boneless outside of a few moments. But honestly, when it drops maps like Ch 11 and Ch 17, I don't even care if the writing slacks cause it's doing everything I want from FE there.

I can count on one hand the number of games I'd say are better than the original RE4, so saying this remake doesn't live up to that mark means nothing. But on its own merits, it's absolutely worth playing. Hope we can get an original RE game in this style sometime.
