An ugly and awkward take on the House of the Dead style rail shooter, lacking all the fun chaos of said game. It's one of the weaker titles in the franchise that I've played so far.

Wow, revisiting this one after a few years and it's just one of the most over-the-top games ever. And incredibly long, admittedly bloated with ideas, the most memorable of the four big campaigns for me being the Leon one simply for being the biggest throwback to the franchise's horror roots (which was a blessing during their big action phase).

Such a great game and a good coop.
The worst part of it was playing in Discord. Seriously, don't do that with yourself. It was a horrible experience.

There is, put simply, no good reason to play this game if it wasn't 2000 and you were desperate to play Yu-Gi-Oh but had literally no other way to. Effect monsters are essentially non-existent, the graphics are terrible, it plays very slow, and it isn't even that hard.

The reason I got this when I was younger was because it had a custom card creator, a hella cool idea that the series didn't use again. Problem is the card creator sucks! The fact everything is a normal monster means you basically just make something with big attack and the custom options are extremely limited in flavor and ability.

This game really isn't even worth trying to play.

This is one of my top 5 games of all time. Admittedly the successor, Perfect Dark, is better by pretty much almost every metric except having Odd Job as a playable character. What keeps it in my top 5 is purely the nostalgia of the summer after the game came out. Nothing like a room full of caffeinated teenagers talking trash around a 14" (yes they made them that small) CRT television for hours on end. God bless the invisible clipping glitch and the subsequent ban on remote/proxy mines that followed. Memories.

nothing special but it preserves the looney tunes spirit well and was a big part of my childhood

combat and shrines became too unrewarding to keep playing

I don't think there's anything NEW I or anyone else can say about this game. It is, rightfully so, regarded as a pillar of modern game design. It is an absolute master class in its design, stupefying in its depth as the world loops back in on itself over and over, creating confounding connections and new paths forward. If you pay attention, there will be an "aha!" moment so often that it is difficult to keep up, as your arsenal expands rapidly, fundamentally changing your relationship to Zebes every single time you get a new upgrade. And all of that is just speaking on the gameplay loop itself, not even touching upon its excellent art, music, environmental storytelling, replayability, the depth of its many mechanics, the multitude of techniques to perfect, how it teaches the player through its design...

And yet, despite how influential and groundbreaking it is, it still feels extremely fresh and exciting. Plenty of games wear this influence on their sleeves, from Symphony of the Night to Hollow Knight, and although many of them succeed in their own ways, nothing may ever surpass the towering achievement that this game is.

A upgrade to goldeneye in every way (except for the need of the expansion pack to play the game), this was the definitive 64 shooter to play with friends... the crazy weapons added a lot of flavor to perfect dark, extra functions on every weapon made very few weapons useless and hell they even added a unarmed skill to drop off your opponent weapon so you always had a chance to do something. They even added a blurry like effect to some weapons and fists that would screw over your opponent vision so they can't see at all. The amount of stupid stuff you could do on this game was bonkers, hell they even added bots that could be added to multiplayer matches making things that much more interesting. I wish they made this game for pc though, since it was obvious that even with the expansion pack, multiplayer was laggy as hell with bots. Nothing like a match with only throwing poison knives or pinball grenades! Nowadays the control scheme plus the slowdown on multiplayer kills this game but oh boy, it was a fun game back on 64.

Holds up surprisingly well in spite of how shallow the immersive sim elements are. Not a huge fan of the plot developments and how they're executed but the gameplay loop is satisfying enough to keep me going through this. We'll have to see about the sequels.

Running around with the wrench and the tonics that make you do extra damage and swing really fast? It slays.
