I came in with fairly high expectations for this and it managed to surpass them.

Great weapons, great gameplay, great music, great bosses, and a surprisingly good story. You have to piece what is happening together but I think you'll find something interesting if you do. Hint: This is all about Selene.

If I had to give some critique, I think the level design for fighting areas is somewhat cluttered and tight. I think more could have been done to give you breathing room and allow your combat abilities to shine.

Amazing game and it is one of my top 10 all time. Highly, highly recommended.

The amount of creativity and variety in this game's mechanics and levels is outstanding. It just keeps throwing more and more and more of that at you. A few of them don't hit too high, but the attempt is incredibly admirable.

The story is simple enough and it hits some good emotional beats throughout.

A game of the year contender.

What a game.

It looks fantastic visually. The image quality is superb and the color palette is great. You can have a ton of things happening on screen at once and it all holds up.

I like the additions that were made to traversal and the weapon selection is solid. The general gameplay is quite enjoyable with the DualSense adding to the gunplay.

Rivet is good here, and I like where things went with all the characters involved.

It is my second favorite Ratchet and Clank game ever. A not too far second from my fave in the series (A Crack in Time).

I had to drop this one.

I don't think the game is bad. I stopped playing for a bit and tried to get back into it, but I just ended up getting bored with it after trying to jog my memory. I would recommend getting through it in as few sittings as possible.

The traversal mechanic (the main draw of the game) is cool but marred by the charge bar that goes with it. I think I would have preferred something more free in that regard.

It is a decent game but I ended up running into a wall about 12 hours in. The enemies were about two levels higher and they were demolishing my characters. I suppose I had to grind, but I had played more than enough by that point and the game isn't good to make me want to grind.

I like it more than dislike it but it can get old somewhat quickly.

2018

I think the game has some lovely art aesthetics and a few cool in-game moments. Unfortunately, that is where the pros end.

It is rather unengaging mechanic wise and even the small amount of them aren't utilized in any memorable way.

I also found the level design to be messy in spots and some of the general ideas from the game are all over the place, disjointed and random.

If you're not looking for something gameplay focused, and you mostly want to scroll through some rather well done artistry, I suppose this is a short burst of that.

If you're looking for anything beyond that, I wouldn't be able to recommend this.

This is a fairly good game. I think my main gripes are with the mechanics and level design. The mechanics feel off in terms of execution. There is an odd "feel" that you never quite get used to. It isn't anything major, or it may not even feel that way for someone else, but it was noticeable for me.

As for the level design, there were a few times when it wasn't clear where to go or what to do. And while I definitely appreciate having to put things together yourself, it felt more like a consequence of flawed level building rather than a conscious design decision.

I also didn't really care for the currency used to buy upgrades. You need 4 pieces of 1 item to get 1 of that item. It doesn't hinder your progress, but I just think there could have been a better way to distribute the upgrades.

I know these are all negatives but I really do think the game is good lol. I just think these are some things that keep it from being really good/great.

With all that said, I recommend this. It is fast paced and can be beaten in less than 10 hours. It also has some decent and somewhat tough boss battles. The OST is pretty good too.

2018

This game does a good job of making you want to go back for more. Once you die, you'll more than likely be thinking, "I'll give it one more try".

The combat is rather basic and straightforward. The experimentation with the Boon system is what will be most interesting in combat. You get a lot to play around with and see what works for you.

The music is pretty good. There is one particular song that you'll hear during one of the levels that had me stop in my tracks just to listen to it. It sounds so lovely.

The story is cool. It is enough to make you want to root for the protagonist.

I also appreciate the sexuality teases throughout from some of the men. And how they can be explored more if you're willing to look into it further.

This is probably my second favorite Supergiant game (Transistor -> Hades -> Bastion). Good game. thumbs up

A decent game.

I think it is a bit too long and there are some design flaws that keep it from being notably good, but as a first try for a studio, it is rather enjoyable overall. I appreciate the theme of grief and loss, and the Rot are too damn cute.

Try it on hard difficulty to get the most out of the combat. It has spots (mostly boss fights) that can be rather challenging.

I basically got through the tutorial and had enough. Movement is stiff and the controls just feel imprecise. On top of that, it has this annoying flashing screen of a character telling you to "kill the boss" over and over. That ended up giving me a slight headache.

So yeah, dropped.

The gameplay just isn't for me. Just nonstop pew pewing with your gun at generic, spongy enemies. I can see how the characters and environments would be appealing but it isn't nearly enough to make up for the bad gameplay. Dropped.

It gives you more context on the story in the main game, and provides an infinite tower climb that will make you want to keep coming back for a higher score. It essentially gives you the pure Nex Machina (another great Housemarque game) experience. Great addition.

Co-op is noticeably tougher compared to playing solo, but it is still fun to either way.

I think it goes on for a bit too long, and the combat has a few design flaws, but it is decent overall. I liked it.

This is a walking simulator that manages to keep your attention by relying on creative ways to tell its story. It lasts just long enough and it has a good ending.

If you haven't enjoyed walking sims up to this point, or you're looking for one to start with, this would be my recommendation.

This was a pretty solid game for the most part. Aside from some older mechanics and ideas from the PS360 gen that have obviously become stale by now, it still holds up by having a good foundation as an action game.
