Played it for maybe an hour and had a good time. Might enjoy it in multiplayer, but it didn't seem compelling enough for me to be excited for that.

I literally wrote a paper for game design class about why the opening hours of this game were so incredibly bad. I will probably never return to it, though maybe on stream to laugh at it.

Excellent game design, very fun to play. Boring narrator dialogue that I would rather have skipped, even though the environmental storytelling without the narrator was charming.

Lol, wow. What an absolute shit game that I played hundreds of hours of and completely dominated my life through middle school.

Played the original on release and never beat it, probably on account of its weapon ascension system being poorly-explained and designed in such a way that there were trap weapon paths that were so inferior as to be unplayable. Can't wait to play the remake, though.

Didn't finish it as a kid, wasn't a huge fan even though the Aeon designs are fantastic. I picked up the remaster and was disgusted by what they did to Tidus and Yuna's face models, and wasn't captured by the world, story, or game loop, though I do appreciate the battle system. I'm sure I'll finish it on stream- having a backseater to prevent me from missing secrets without pouring through spoilery guides would improve the experience.

Got stuck on a boss after release, but that was before I figured out the FromSoft systems and beat my first Souls game. I'll pick it up again and complete it, I'm sure.

Got lost in modding and never completed it. Whoops!

I honestly hated this game. Unfun, boring story and gameplay, don't get the hype. Forgettable.

I love Job and Sub-job character advancement systems, with skill learning to boot. I really want more games with battle systems like this. Finding interesting build combos is one of my favorite activities in video games.

WHY IS ITS SCORE SO HIGH WHEN IT'S SO FLAWED? Because despite what a shitshow this game was released as, the pieces of it that were implemented well are some of the most moving and loveable RPG experiences I've ever had. I'll never forget the day I spent with the bois visiting the beach, and Ignis's DLC will forever be one of the standout triumphs of RPG gaming. Even though FFVII Remake or other future FF games may have perfected the ideas behind its battle system, the open-world car/chocobo exploration components and party inter-relationships of this game are something I'll crave more of until they continue it. This game may be one of the only FF games that actually deserves a sequel (unlike the sequels that actually got made, barfing at you Crisis Core, X-2 and XIII-2)
