stupid name for a genre since almost everybody gets confused about what it's supposed to mean. but basically, immersive sims are games that promote emergent gameplay from the player which just means the player solves problems via means that are believable within the game world. imsims usually have a bunch of systems interacting with each other to allow for this to be possible.
