Absolutely lived up to the immense hype it got. One of the greatest experiences I've had in gaming overall, from its characters and writing to the gameplay and mechanics, easily top 3 of all time and I can't wait to go through it again another time.

Digital crack for the brain. Very easy to play for either 5 min on a break or spend hours grinding, but nonetheless a very easy game to get addicted to.

As a Sonic fan since the Gamecube era this has been an incredible return to form for the franchise in over a decade, and it sets a great starting point for the future of the franchise in the years to come.
The world is a bit empty, but for me that makes zooming around at breakneck speeds smoother. The combat was fun and flashy, and the music (as is the case in every other Sonic game) was exemplary.

As someone who LOVES exploration in games this was an absolutely fantastic experience. It basically lets you do what you want, when you want.
