It's a mixed bag. The story, atmosphere and voice acting are excellent. The game is worth playing for those alone.

However, the game part is very clunky. Combat never really feels good. Boss fights are gimmicky which is okay since the combat is really not very good.
Level design is confusing and it's easy to lose your way.
Many, many, too many box puzzles. They even throw respawning enemies in box puzzle rooms which gets irritating.
I hope the sequel is better. I plan to play it eventually.

A point and click adventure on the game gear. Extremely short. Around 1h 30 minutes. There are a couple of funny dialogue lines, but there's not much here.
Some weird puzzles here and there, I ended up using a walkthrough.
Combat is very limited and consists of literally rolling dice. The weapon you have determines how many dice you throw when dealing damage.
Safe to skip this one.

I consider this to be an okay game. Got a lot of flaws, like weird dialogue, (maybe the translation isn't that good). Repetitive music which is just ok, nothing amazing. I didn't find the story and especially the story telling engaging.

It's got good gameplay though.
It's an action game with some rpg elements. You are awarded stat point upgrades when you clear a room for the first time. Always felt rewarding. You also have a life system which I didn't really understand the point of. You're most likely to die at a boss, and the save points are always just before the boss so you can just reload your most recent save. I ended up with 9 lives until I reached the end of the game, and at the end when I used them all, my character would just revive at the most recent point anway.

Level design is adequate with some light puzzles thrown in. The pace is pretty good, you can finish this in around 13 hours. Doesn't overstay its welcome.

Not missing much by not playing this one. Maybe Terranigma is better? I haven't played that yet.

One of the best GBA games I've ever played. Going for 100% is really fun. Each stage has its own music and feels unique. Controls are good. Definitely recommend this one, a must play.

It's like an anthology of jrpgs. You play through many worlds, each with their own charm and style. Some worlds focus on the story, others on the gameplay. The fighting mechanics are pretty simple, but that's not a bad thing.

The pixel art in this is really good.

I enjoyed my roughly 25 hours with this one. Worth a playthrough.

This is a very fun and challenging game. You get only 3 continues and can't earn any more than that. There is a beginner more where you take less damage, i recommend that to get used to the stages and enemies first before tackling normal mode. You don't get ranked or the credits at the end on beginner.

It plays mostly like a top-down shooter, but you're fighting fire. You have to types of spraying, top and down. There is small fire on the ground that can only be hit with the down spray and larger fire that can be hit safely from afar with the top spray. You can hold the R button to maintain the direction you're spraying in.
You also have a water bomb that functions as you'd expect. Like a bomb in any other shmup. Pretty important for bosses, especially the last 2. You can find bombs hidden in the levels. If you pick up a bomb while you have 3 bombs, you get a more powerful spray for your hose that lasts until you get hit.

Ocasionally, there are other types of hazards you must avoid by ducking such as explosions, fireballs, fire drafts etc. Ducking is also used to go under certain obstacles.

The game is on a time-limit for each stage. You're rated based on how much fire you cleared during the level, how much time is left on the clock and how many continues you used. If the time limit reaches 0, your health goes down to 1. Once you die, you get another few minutes(I think 3) when you continue.

Really great game, I enjoyed it a lot.

I had an absolute blast with this one. The amount of content on offer here is absolutely incredible. I can't even begin to imagine how much effort this must have taken to make.
Not everything is good (I really dislike Chadley), but the good outweighs the bad by a long shot.
Music is amazing. Gameplay is great. Graphics are top-notch. The open world is ...ehhh, I could have done with less of that. Some mini-games would be good enough to be their own stand-alone games (chocobo racing and queen's blood card game). You can easily find yourself trying to get the highest score, but you'll probably enjoy the game more if you don't do that.

Every character gets their own spotlight in the main story and all side-quests involve at least one of your party members in some way.

The cinematics are really beautiful and always a treat. Such a beautiful game.

Highly recommend it. I really hope the next game doesn't have Chadley or that at least there's less of him. I hate Chadley.

I really didn't like this game.
Music gets repetitive quickly.
The controls are some of the worst I've ever encountered. It feels like you're all the levels are ice levels. Momentum makes no sense. It's either too much or not enough.
There are rock-paper-scissors bosses, so unless you follow a guide, you'll lose just because of luck(luckily they always pick the same thing).
The level design at least is decent. But because of the horrible controls, I really can't enjoy it.
Only managed to play until the first castle, which I think is half of the game.
You're not missing anything by not playing this one.

Intriguing game. There could be worse ways to spend an evening. I don't really like horror games, but it was interesting and short enough to play it till the end. Has multiple endings which seem pretty easy to get.

It's a really nice and short game.
It has a couple of joke characters in there which was nice to see.
Not a difficult game at all. The AI is pretty easy, just hit the ball left then right and most of the time, the Ai won't hit back. Not a balanced game, characters which have more power are easier to win with(just adds to each character's uniquness a bit)
I finished the tournament with all the characters in around 2h 50 minutes. Not much to do beyond that, except maybe play the game ocasionally each month, as there is a different tournament for each zodiac sign depending on the day of the real-life calendar that you play it on. There is a nice trophy display in the records screen.

The music gets repetitive really quickly. It just repeats the same notes over and over, there are 3 songs in the game, one for each match in the tournament, but they are really short.

Overall, good game to play a couple of rounds while on the bus or during a break.

Great shmup. Really good pixel art and soundtrack. There are some cutscenes in-between stages which are pretty nice.
You have 4 weapons and you can switch to any of them at any time by pressing one of the L1,L2, R1 or R2 buttons.
Multiple difficulty options. I found this to be pretty difficult on anything other than easy. I think I'm just bad at this type of games.
There is also a score attack mode which is a separate stage. I spent half of my time here trying to at least survive until the end.
I Highly recommend it if you want a charming and fun shmup.

Plays well, sounds well, looks great. Just the right amount of difficulty. A checkpoint was never too far. Doesn't take advantage of its gimmick as much as I would've liked. I feel like Guacamelee did a similar concept better.

I liked the dialogue, it was really funny. But the amount of dialogue is not the same throughout the whole game. There's a lot more in the beginning and as you reach the mid-point, it starts getting less and less.

The first half is really good, then it gets a bit worse as it "opens up" and turns into a backtracking filled metroidvania. Would have been better if it allowed you more fast travel, but as it is now, you'll end up going through the same areas multiple times. Or even better, if the whole game was just linear. I would've preferred more linear stages instead of what we've got here.
Gets back on track towards the end as it starts becoming linear again.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with it. Worth a playthrough.

It's a fun versus shmup, patience is rewarded as the goal is to destroy the bigger enemies which cause an explosion an then chain-kill the smaller enemies. This will send a projectile to the enemy, which can then be sent back to you by destroying it as an "enhanced"(faster/glowy) projectile and if you send this projectile back to your opponent, it will send a special attack which is different for each character.

The more you play, the more you start noticing the same patterns.

Each stage has different models for the monsters, different songs, backgrounds, etc. The music is very good, it has high-energy vibes.

There are some slowdowns when there is a lot happening on screen, it can actually be helpful to understand what's going on as there can be a lot on the screen at once.

The AI is weird. Sometimes it will dodge everything you throw at it in stage 1 and other times it will fail in stage 5 in the first 20 seconds. Your best bet is to try and do as many chain attacks as possible and survive for as long as possible, but the CPU can move faster than you so it can dodge stuff you can't. In the end, you get the feeling it all boils down to a little bit of luck.

I recommend this one. One run is around 20-30 minutes, beating it with every character took me around 7 hours.

One of the weirder games I've played. You're thrown in a village and you're left to figure out what's happening. There are multiple endings and paths, but when you have no idea what to do, where to go, who to talk to, feels like you're just wandering around hoping something will happen.
There is no voice acting, only text.
It's pretty funny at times.
In a way, it feels like playing through a gintama episode. It's fairly light hearted.
I didn't really enjoy the combat, it felt clunky.
I only got one of the endings, but for me that's enough for this game.
Maybe worth a shot, but it feels very rough.

The gameplay is simple, you have an attack, a dodge and a special button. Each character has a short list of combos they can do and offensive and defensive special moves.

The story mode goes by very quickly, in around 30 minutes. You play through Ippo's story in an arcade-like way. Moves are locked until certain matches.

Tournament mode is much more difficult, and is where you'll spend most of your time. Trying to beat this with some of the weaker fighters (Hayami especially) is a nightmarish task. In the last 2 matches, the CPU is much more aggressive, takes a lot more hits to take down and does significantly more damage. To the point that it starts to feel unfair in my opinion.

Still, overall it's an enjoyable game, worth at least a try. The spritework is very good.
