started it feeling maybe i shouldn't be playing more fire emblem after the 160 hours i logged in fates revelation + 25 in fire emblem gba because i was feeling pretty burnt out from the gameplay loop. then the leon plot happened and now i think this is my favourite of the older fe games i've played. (eirika route)

not necessarily one of my all time fave zeldas but i do think it has a pretty near perfect utilisation of the side quest mechanic. yes the world is ending in three days and only you can save it but dammit you WILL help this little girl fight off aliens that are trying to steal her cows. not only that but The Power Of Helping People In Need (Who Give You Masks) significantly reduces the difficulty level of the final boss. take that, loser!

every time you possess something it grows a silly little moustache. i could play a frog with a moustache. it's the little things in life

i had fun and i got it cheap. so i consider that a win. also there's a stage where you can play peppy and he shouts barrel roll every time you do a barrel roll

not to be dramatic or anything but i'm literally going to die if prime 4 doesn't have a motion control option. for some reason finishing this game made my brain become absolutely fixated on metroid and now i own the two gba games as well so take that as a recommendation i guess

i'm a bit fire emblemed-out at the moment so i STILL haven't played two of the routes but uh. i really liked golden deer. raphael is my favourite :)

was looking for a short game as a sort of stopgap between two longer ones on my backlog and this definitely hit the spot. although 1) the back quarter of the test rooms is WAY longer than the first three quarters, to the point it took me by surprise, and 2) this is definitely not the game to play if you suffer from motion sickness. i don't think i'm especially prone (i've played through all of the metroid prime trilogy and the only time it hit me was when i got badly lost underwater once) but even i had to take a few long breaks - and probably should have taken more but i was determined to finish it tonight. my only other quibble is that i found parts of the final boss a bit fiddly. otherwise, i think it wholly deserves its classic status and i'm sure i'll enjoy the second game when i get round to it probably years from now.

i had a pretty fun time but also i'm kinda glad i got this game as a freebie

funniest guy in this game is the one who joins your army because his girlfriend told him to.

i should revisit this on a harder mode now that i've actually had experience with the older games' difficulty. i mean, i'll probably still suck, but i'm willing to give it a go.

really enjoyed making my trainer the most fashionable gal in the alola region
