idk if it's just because i never really got the hang of the battle mechanic but i don't remember being super into this one? i'm probably due for a replay once i finally get through my backlog tho

play this trilogy if you want fire emblem three houses world at war choose one of three sides storyline but like. worse. i think nothing sums this up more than the extreme copout of having one guy be Very Obviously Bad no matter who you play as, followed by the reveal in the third game that he's like possessed or something anyway. i don't necessarily regret playing these three games but it's kinda hilarious how much three houses improves on every interesting facet. more morally ambiguous side choices, better more expansive gay options that aren't just Guy Who Gets Off On Murder and Your Stalker, and you don't have to buy THREE WHOLE GAMES just to experience the entire plot!

adult timeline is the best zelda timeline. it's still absolutely baffling to me that in a flooded land the fish people evolved into birds but the people who canonically sink like a stone in water are just the same as usual

this is a pretty damn significant game in the franchise, and i can't wait for the sequel :) however it also loses some of what i love about the franchise - i actually really enjoy getting items that gradually unlock parts of the world, rather than having access to all of it at once. it's the appeal of metroid for me, as well - getting something and realising that i can get through to something that drew my eye before. also i think the sequel should let me do more little tasks for people. i love my little tasks.

liked it a lot! i did a 100% run which i don't think i'll repeat - the blue coins are a fun idea in theory (even if you're stuck on a shine you can still make some incremental progress exploring the area) but kind of frustrating and tedious to collect all of. there was only really one 'infamous' shine i had trouble with, the one you have to reach the island with yoshi for: because getting there at all is difficult, and then doing the shine is difficult, it meant that i had to replay one long annoying preliminary section every time i got a game over which was uh...several times. so i definitely had my frustrations with this game...overall i think i like super mario galaxy more, but i still found this one a satisfying experience, and especially i just really loved moving around the place in it? that's probably the thing i'm going to miss the most. also: banging sountrack

this is a nice little game but it's probably at it's most playable if you have three people together in a room with it rather than struggling with the statues in single player or waiting around for two other people to join you online, and unfortunately i don't have friends that are enough into zelda for that

i have no idea if this game is 'good' but elise dying did make me cry. so.

i wish all forest temples a very die a thousand deaths

i didn't finish this until 2 years after i first bought it because the idea of having to face the swift phantoms intimidated me so much that i'd just complete the ghost ship, find out about the phantom sword, and then restart the game. i don't think it's the best handheld game in the series but it was my first and i do still like it a lot

i was OBSESSED with the little octorok baseball game when i was a kid

wow i love sports games (the baseball minigame in the legend of zelda: a link between worlds)

anyway this is an all round pretty solid zelda experience! exploring especially is super satisfying. it is also nice to know that i HAVE got better at playing videogames since i was twelve...i'm debating having a second go at hero mode, which i tried years ago but gave up on because i was dying so much. it's not the one i'm most deeply attached to, and especially because of the last two zeldas i replayed it's kinda a bummer how little she gets to do here...but hey, we can't all be spirit tracks (2009) and i think as the game it aims to be it succeeds pretty well.

i think i am...slightly too impatient for the sort of timed puzzle game this is, especially the dialogue bits which often repeat every time you turn back time, and as a result i looked up answers a bit more frequently than i would've liked. HOWEVER there is some pretty satisfying puzzle stuff, and i really enjoyed the story - well paced with likeable characters and a great ending. super glad this got an hd rerelease on switch because i've seen it listed on a fair few 'best ds game' lists but it's uh...expensive to buy on that platform these days and i'm too lazy to get into emulation

this really just served as a reminder of how much i love three houses' world...fire emblem games are such a massive time sink for me that i STILL haven't got round to the blue lions and black eagles routes despite playing golden deer like 4 years ago at this point but man did this make me look forward to re-emersing myself in fodlan once i have a little more time

super fun! you can tell it was developed early in the 3ds' life-cycle because MAN does it use every single control gimmick the system has. only time i had a problem with that was gyro because i found it really hard to focus on the action while i was tilting this way and that. but otherwise i very much enjoyed it

would be better without the homophobic stereotype in the third case tbh!!
