Prodeus is a smooth game in terms of combat and everything but there are a lot of problems with the game as well.

The respawn option is crap. you restart and you go back to your "nexus" point or your checkpoint with full health and all the monsters you killed are still dead. The only way to circumvent this, is to do a full restart which will restart you from the very beginning.

The monsters are basically straight-up rips of Doom monsters. The lack of variation makes the game seem generic.

I like the implementation of the leaderboards and the map creation and this game is by no means terrible, It's a decent game.

It's not super memorable, but a good way to pass the time.

It's a great Lovecraftian steampunk game with nice environmental design, attention to detail, great places to veer off and explore. Definitely gives Xbox 360-era energy, and I love it for that.

The big daddy enemy name I thought was a little lame.

The story was alright. heady, imaginative, and unique. I bet if I played this game as a kid, it would have had way more of impact on me.

the combat can be a little iffy. I was playing on the hardest difficulty and the big daddy's were a pain, but then I learned later on that bolts are op as shit. Especially since you can collect the bolts.

the hacking can be a little obtuse after doing them so frequently. I often use automated hack units, not because the hacks are too hard or anything, mostly just to save time.

85/100

breath of fresh air from the stagnant AAA games coming out.

the voice acting was unprecedently good. the edginess was over the top and didn't hold any punches. I loved the vibe!

Cons

- No memorable bosses
- Few Variation in enemy types
- Rinse and repeating the same objectives and killing the same enemy types over and over again makes for a monotonous play
- The story is good but not spectacular in my opinion

Pros

- The setting is probably the greatest thing it has going for it. Beautiful landscape of Bright Falls, Washington. Gorgeous mountains, Western Hemlock, White Pines.
- The protagonist isn't the worst. carries the stereotypical writer tropes
- The collectibles were a nice addition. Made exploring a bit more fun
- Voice acting was on point and kept you engaged

I would say the closest comparison I could give it is Bloobers, Medium. Medium was a tad bit more mediocre than this, but they have close similarities. Heavy emphasis on storytelling and not enough on gameplay.

I think if I had this on Xbox 360 when it shipped I would regard it with much more value.

7/10

I played this shit in a grocery store daycare and in my toddler brain. This was peak gaming.

watch out Hideo Kojima.

the weapon movement is more correct and follows a plot unlike the previous ones. certified 2006 banger. The good ol' days for flash games, and shit being on the internet in general.

wake me up inside
(I can't wake up) wake me up inside
(Save me) call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up) bid my blood to run
(I can't wake up) before I come undone
(Save me) save me from the nothing I've become

Great game and does diablo better then the actual new diablos in terms of presentation and gameplay, but I hate the idea that the level doesn't restart the spawns on death and that you are kind of forced to look at a guide to play especially if you want to get to the end and 100% if you want to do the end game shit, which totally stifles the enjoyment for me atleast.

I played this like when I was 8 or something and holy shit was it complicated for my peanut brain.

I need to go back to it because I love its aesthetic and midi music.

There is a world built just for David bowie

I thought I was headed to the UFC after playing this as a kid.

News update. I didnt.
