The physics are so fun, the crashes and the chaos are spectacular but i can't get over how unforgivably little content the game has before DLC, literally early access tier.
Game gets kinda repetitive over time but the damage model and the driving are perfection. I really wish to see a sequel that better uses the strong points of this game.

when all your vn has going for it is "queer"

couldn't get into this, the writing is below amateurish yet dense, self indulgent and lifeless. the art is ugly yet very scarce. what's worse is the setting justifies it having the blandest ambient soundtrack known by man

feels aimed towards confused teenagers who only read smut webcomics on tumblr and haven't picked a romance novel in their lives while still pretending to be above what it really is. the vn at its core is fanfiction tier and sadly the presentation is nowhere near good enough to give it a pass out of the audiovisual experience alone

I mean yeah what do you want me to say, it blew me away in 2017 and it's still amazing today even with its flaws and cut content. One of the greats for sure.

Great game, arguably the best in the mainline DiRT along with it's direct sequel
Under the bloom filled environments and the dudebro skater presentation there's a perfect blend of arcade and some realistic bits that feels like glory. The soundtrack is great (but wish there was an option to play the songs during the races), the graphics were great for the time, the presentation is still quite flashy, the locations are well detailed and as a whole it's very pleasant to play
I'd only really complain about the lack of more tracks and the small vehicle roster. Barely any cars older than 2000 and there are only one or two routes per location. After a few replays said content runs dry and left me wanting more. Luckily however, Dirt 3 delivers.

I have played maybe 200 hours worth of this across 3 platforms, even played it ahead of release back in 2014 and still hate every area, every enemy, every boss, just everything. how unpleasant

unpatched, pre-release amana's is easily one if the most awful zones I've endured through in a video game, no man's wharf is awful, iron keep is awful, sotfs heides tower is awful, almost every zone is ugly, unfinished, filled with enemies with insane tracking and ambushes with bosses that are either bullshit or super disappointing

but i keep coming back to it

The fact that there's no vibration feedback when you're riding your bike (except when you crash) absolutely breaks the experience for me. Riding and managing the bike is the best part of the game and this oversight absolutely detaches you from it.

Imagine a world where dice is allowed to deliver something that isn't battlefield and battlefront games

The gritty story, the punchy guns, the aesthetics, the creative choices. It all comes together and produces something far larger than the sum of it parts.
Love the risks taken with this game, quite the ride that I find hard to ever be replicated.

you can just tell the dev is obnoxious af irl from the ending

Finally a game for dudes who close the fridge door with their hips

Everyone knows the good parts. The gameplay is great and the cars feel just right, the graphics are a technical achievement and the map and car selection are awesome (even if lancia and alfa are missing this time around).
However this game represents what I was afraid the franchise would turn into after 4. It starts with emotes and clothes and ends up with an embarrassing attempt at a story and characters. It just won't give up on reminding you the current audience for Horizon.
I'm going straight to the point and say that i find this game to be downright racist with its depictions of Mexicans. Listening to those never ending dialogs with two or three Spanish words sprinkled in every line is embarrassing, I'm done with Alejandra talking about her familia and her tio's vocho. Just let me collect the damn cars. What's worse is the exhibition events aren't even hype nor fun unlike the previous games, having these really annoying cartoons of a character talk on top of them is the icing on the cake, having some of them be locked on AT transmission is downright criminal.
A big part of the game saw no evolution since FH4. Same old issues, a real copy+paste in some things, still can't preview liveries, rebinding buttons is still a pain in the ass, auction house is still hot garbage since FH3, even the cars that were barn finds in the previous game are still tagged as such, really how does something like that get past QA?
Feels like the formula was polished at 3 (but not perfected) and everything after that was just building bullshit around it to retain players and maximize gamepass subs by finding an even younger public. Maybe I'm just getting older.
Overall I'm pretty disappointed in the game and will probably just stick around for the core gameplay, I wish i could just skip the bullshit. All i wanted was to collect virtual cars, man.

I'm so conflicted as there are some really fun ideas that are well implemented but i feel it's all brought down by things like the timed escort missions with the incompetent AI, the horrible boss fights and the constant punishment in losing large amounts of progress to bullshit. it's a game that's really fun until you start to actually play it

Very close to perfection, probably the boldest AAA game in many years. I'm amazed a deliveryman game with this sort of budget was even allowed to exist
Best Kojipro since mgs2

Pretty good game featuring what's probably the best online mode in any racing game in the market. After many years of updates, it feels like it has enough content to justify the (now) low price point but there are a lot of iconic cars still missing and there aren't enough circuits yet (only one city circuit location, really?)
Single player mode is very much half baked and unbalanced but at least it's there.
The game has very weird choices. Shows a clear love for cars with new ultra detailed models and a livery editor displaying high res designs, but you can't just use a free camera or interact with your car a la autovista, you can't side view your car during races and the chase camera feels oddly impersonal, far from the car and almost completely fixed, I feel it disconnects you from your own virtual vehicle.
It's fun however if you're the type of player that just likes to grind times around irl tracks, the driving itself is on point and it's a perfect game to play on controller and I'd imagine it's even better with a wheel
I hope gran turismo 7 gives you a bit more of a personal experience with your car, as for now they feel like something pretty but hollow you just pick depending on the meta for an online race and less like a bit of an interactive, almost tangible digital good you can make "yours" like in the more recent forza games. Even in earlier GT games, oil change/car wash gave it a bit of interaction to show some love to your favorite car
And as a side note, not allowing the player to pick any car they want for the arcade mode but rather the ones they own with a game with this much grind is a crime. If i want to lap around monza with an enzo i should be allowed to without having to grind for it.
