sorry ill give this a proper log when i finish it its just a little funny to me that the last time i played a resident evil game with leon as a protag i was a gay man but ive since rediscovered myself and realized i was a lesbian and its a little strange seeing this man again when im basically a whole new person (not really). do i need to come out to him again. Sorry leon no more gay jokes. ill meet u in papas orchard

i'm in the middle of my seven route run as of writing this so this isnt a complete log BUTTT i enjoy this game. obligatory mention about all the paywalls; i bought a couple hourglasses just to top me off so i could do deep story but i really dont like the fact you either have to spend a bunch of time grinding for hourglasses OR pay money to get the hourglasses just so you can play the other routes. other little annoyances are the chat speed being too slow even on its fastest speed (you CAN buy the ability to use max speed for like $3 but id like to go through the chats quickly without immediately skipping to the dialogue choices) and having to replay through the entire first few days if you dont want to spend hourglasses skipping to where the game branches off. either one of these on their own is like.... whatever. but both of them just makes for a really grueling replay experience, even when im going for a different route.

while not an explicit romance, i felt like jaehee's route was the most enjoyable. it felt like a connection formed from actually getting to know a person compared to a lot of the guys who focus more on mc being cute. do i enjoy the other routes / characters ? of course. seven is a close second fave; his behavior and way of speaking are very reminiscent of someone i would be friends with, so its easy to like him. zens route... was something. i like zen ill admit, but responses that typically appeal to him put me off so bad LOL. while i havent done their routes yet, i only like jumin when hes talking about his cat and i find it hard to like yoosung. i remember liking yoosung when i first played the game, so i suppose ive just grown out of that character type.

what else to mention about a game i havent finished... i do enjoy the phone calls / text messages outside of the chats. its funny finishing a chat, immediately getting a phone call, and then getting a text message while in the middle of said call. I LOVE TEXTING AND COMMUNICATING THROUGH PHONES IN GAMES !!!!

obsessed with this game. on one hand i think games should be at their best quality when they release, but i am glad larian takes the time to patch any bugs or fixes, or even new content entirely. as of writing this, i have yet to play through the epilogue they added in the latest patch, but my biggest gripe was how unsatisfying the ending felt, so im glad that issue has potentially been fixed.

any other issues i have with the game are entirely minor and didn't really take away from my enjoyment: textures not loading properly sometimes (especially in later portions of the game) and how some npcs will take forever to act during combat. not like im giving the game a pass for these things, but im not too worried about these issues as long as i can still complete the game. plus i know larian has been adding fixes throughout the months, so its not like the game is just left to be like it was when first released.

anyways, onto the good things ^_^ i think maybe the feature i enjoy the most is the impact class and race have on dialogue- both how you react to others, and how others react to you. its fun having my character properly acknowledged, and it provides more incentive for replayability. its just one little example, but i really enjoyed playing as a cleric on one of my runs; youre able to mention your faith, and even your specific faith at times, and it was rather enjoyable romancing gale as a cleric, since we both had a connection with a god(dess) ^o^

speaking of romances, i do really enjoy the companions- both in a romantic and platonic context. i had a select few i enjoyed from the very beginning, but i eventually grew to love them all. they all have their own beliefs, and morals, and personal goals. i love the overworld banter when youre walking around, and the reactions they have to what you do. i think the voice actors did an amazing job with their roles.

i dont have much to say about the combat of the game- its fun..! i like working with the class of my character and bringing along certain party members who i think are best suited for a fight, but thats about it. ive only ever played on easy, just because i prioritize story over everything else, so i can't really comment on it fully since i havent seen everything it has to offer. i do enjoy the standard easy - normal - hard selection of difficulties, but i am glad they added an honour mode and a custom mode. honour mode sounds like a fun challenge that ill probably never complete, and custom mode offers me the opportunity to do one thing ive always wanted to do: have multiclassing on easy mode.

i truly think this is the best game that came out in 2023. theres a reason i keep coming back to play it, even though im someone who generally doesnt like replaying games, especially when ive already recently finished it. however, with the range of customization, patches that either improve or add content, and possibility to find something i initially missed, there is always a reason to make a new playthrough.

quite short but it is a jam game and it also benefits from being fairly short ! i read the description but not the features, so i initally assumed there were only 2 endings, but i was pleasantly surprised there are actually 4..! beyond that, the first thing i noticed were the sound design and ui. SOO Soo cool. this is definitely more unsettling than outright scary, but i did get scared at least once. i like how you can be outright antagonistic to niall but Also just a bit more calculative and play to his desire for a family. the swimming section caught me off guard but luckily there is like. a lotttt of time to figure out what to do before time runs out. my one actual complaint is that the music was Weirdlyyy loud during the endings, which is where the full voice acting kicks in. not the most egregious thing, since i can adjust the separate volumes, but they were at their default settings so !?! yeah. good game <3 i liked the endings, the art, the ui, everything..!

would love to consider this mastered but i have all but one achievement and i cannot for the life of me figure out which one im missing. otherwise! a very fun game where there's a bunch of different routes because you can individually pick the roles each character has, which can lead to you unlocking more roles for those same characters. usually with games like these that offer a bunch of choices and outcomes, some routes are more lackluster than others, but with bad end theater i felt like each route was given the care and detail it needed since its a shorter game :)

its only a few dollars so if you are also part of the intersection of sudoku fan and cat fan then its worth it in my opinion :D i enjoy the simplicity of the game, its literally just sudoku but the numbers are replaced with cats, and theres even a little story that ur introducing the cats to each other but you have to do it properly, which is why all these sudoku rules are applying to regular cats.

not sure if there was a way to turn them off (there usually isnt in gacha games. i MUST be aware of every single event every time i open the game) but the second time i opened the game and had to click out of a bunch of notifications to play the actual game it kinda put me off from opening it again. however the actual game itself is fine; as someone whos only played a little of one of the ps2 games, i had an easy time picking up on the rules. and in general i like how self-indulgent yugioh games are where you get to play with / against the yugioh characters. as someone who isnt a longterm / hardcore yugioh fan i couldnt recommend this to someone who's like me in that aspect.

tbh i still enjoy the papa's games (i have a few on my phone) and while i know there are ways to play old flash games it was nice to just simply purchase a game and have it on my computer. plus it has the extra features of the newer games that the original freezeria doesn't have. it's definitely one of those games that ill play a lot in multiple sessions and then put it off for a while, but thats simply the way i play open-ended games like these. its real easy to get into the rhythm of things and it's a lot of fun to see how quickly you can get an order done while also striving for 100% perfection. obviously a lot of buyers are people who played the original games but i do think its fun on its own without the nostalgia factor :D

i feel the need to specify i cant talk about this as a sonic game as im not familiar with other games (i played a few as a kid but thats it) so my thoughts are purely about the standalone game. i think the first thing i noticed was how delightful the art is, and how catchy the music was. there was a lot of variety, with different themes for investigation, interrogation, entering a new room (and each room had its own theme), and even different music for the think sections. and about the art, its just so good. its very charming, and the colors all work well together. the sprites were cute, and the backgrounds have just enough detail to know effort was put into them, but theyre not distracting from the sprites.

maybe it was revealed in the description, i didnt read it, but i enjoyed that the game went beyond being a murder mystery party; i wouldve been fine with a little game about who killed sonic, but it included more twists than just who was the killer. the characters were also all very charming; despite not being familiar with past sonic games, i got a good sense of who each character is without them feeling one dimensional. it was really fun seeing the different ways the characters interact with each other. i did enjoy that the main character was some made up (at least, i dont think hes a previous sonic character) average guy; it's very self indulgent, but it was a lot more enjoyable to be spectating all the prominent sonic characters than it would probably be to be one of those prominent characters.

one more thing id like to touch on is the think sections, or the minigames. it was a nice breakup between the visual novel parts, especially since it lets you more directly interact with the games ending instead of simply reading the ending. something else i noticed is that while i did have to start over and over again, each section was quick enough that i wasnt that frustrated about starting over. however, i did notice they had several assist options in case you were having trouble, which i thought was nice. it does mention it was tuned for experienced sonic players, but as someone who doesnt fit that description, they were only minorly difficult.

all in all, a very good game. i had fun with the mystery and the little minigame was fun too. all the visuals are enjoyable and soundtrack felt appropriate for both the settings and series (there were many times where i thought Yeah... this is sonic music). my only complaint is that i wish there was some sort of cg gallery; it doesnt interfere with my enjoyment nor do i really consider it an issue, but it would be nice to look back at some of the art without replaying the game (the last few cgs were especially cute).

i enjoyed the simplicity of the first game but the sequel definitely has more content and polish :3 the animated scenes were a nice touch, i like that the intro and outro had more limited colour palettes (the latter was even similar to the first game), while the point and click section had a bit more colour and was more readable. obviously it feels like theres more interactions between the reader and the main character because theres more to interact with and more game-time, but i DID enjoy the fact there was more interactions between the two, especially learning more about our role and who the main character is and how she thinks.

its been a while since i played so i cant go into specifics but i really enjoyed this dlc. kaitos one of my favourite judgment characters so it was rlly fun having a whole dlc focused on him and his relationships with a new cast of characters.

the game had a slow start for me but i really enjoyed it ! i loved the introduction of another battle style (especially one focused more on intimidation since. you fight high schoolers?!). including the school stories was nice because it gave me an incentive to go back to the school and kept it relevant even when u stopped going there in the main story. i will say i preferred the characters in this game but i enjoyed judgment's mystery more overall.

that being said... yagamis character felt... strange? i could understand his fixation on sawa if it was how he didnt want another incident like what happened with emi, but it was just... odd. and how no other character questioned why he was so set on "giving a voice" to a woman he hardly knew and didnt know her beliefs. and then he says "whos to decide whats right? who decides whats wrong? not us" like. What have you been doing the whole game then. i was really into the idea of yagami vs kuwana from a moral standpoint but yagamis argument relies so much on "well what about sawa" that im just. Yeah. ill side with kuwana.

quick personal gripes!
-saori's treatment in the game: excited that you get to play as her again. Did not like that they had to add in the part where her coworkers visit her at the club and you have to awkwardly flirt with them to not blow ur cover. stop that
-tailing: honestly preferred the way tailing worked in judgment. took me way too long to realize you could still hide behind things because there was no indicator. also i miss the little cutscene at the beginning where it would show the transition from Regular Gameplay to Tailing Segment. it was fun! the addition of "acting casual" was cool tho :0

quick list of things i enjoyed !
-skateboard! as someone who doesnt rlly use the taxis it was nice to have another way to get around ijincho quickly
-pawpularity! i really enjoyed looking for the cats in the first judgment, so it was a nice surprise to be able to interact with them this time!
-stealth! ive always enjoyed stealth segments in games, and it made sense for situations you couldnt fight your way through or slip in with a disguise.
-saori segment! even tho i complained about it earlier, ultimately i love playing as saori and i like the dress up part as well

overall Yes i enjoyed the game. it had a lot of potential but it kinda fell flat for me. i wouldnt say im disappointed tho just... a bit sad it didnt play out differently

i did not expect to like this game so much but i really did. i love that u can solve crime while also beating the shit out of people. the questioning and court sections were really fun especially because it's relatively low stakes; the only thing i suffer is embarrassment if a character calls me out on being wrong.

i loved that the cases were all connected in some way, i fully expected the game to be a series of totally different cases. that being said, i am glad they went the route of "everything is connected" because it made the side cases a lot more enjoyable. im also a fan of how you had multiple sources of picking up cases, whether it was formally getting a job from someone or stumbling upon a person in need.

combat was really fun. even if its just 2, im glad they brought back the battle styles (since i had came from kiwami 2). wall jumping and leapfrogging were some of my favourite parts of fights. Every time i write these damn reviews i feel like i need to end it with a logical conclusion like its an essay . when these are literally only for me to word dump

i was really hopeful about this game, especially since i had really enjoyed 0 and kiwami. everything about the game just felt... off? combat was weird and walking around town was weirdly difficult. and because of that i couldnt be bothered to pick up any substories, which made the story not very engaging because i couldnt really get a break from it. i will admit i was a little sad that battle styles werent present in this game, but i was willing to let it go... until it started feeling like there was more emphasis on using weapons. idk i really liked the hand to hand combat present in the previous 2 games, but some fights were basically impossible without using a weapon in kiwami 2. maybe i will give it a second chance because im sure its a good game and im just bad at it

also majima saga was very good and i liked that they included the cabaret minigame again
