while the actual roster is ridiculously large, it feels like a lot is missing from previous entries. collectibles are now just a bunch of pngs, the new singleplayer mode is largely just a series of npc battles with an added parameter, and a lot of other old singleplayer modes are just outright not here. that combined with online now being locked behind a paywall console-wide makes it really hard to say this is the Smash game, because as fun as it is to have "everyone," it feels like that's the only thing it has going for it

feels like a great extension of Kirby's core gameplay, with the animal friends adding additional complexity to abilities and putting more emphasis on traditional platforming that's usually less of a priority in Kirby. it also looks and sounds wonderful with Super Gameboy enhancements. would definitely consider a highlight of the platform.

generally pretty good. the level length feels like it varies a lot in some odd ways, and has some interesting spikes in difficulty, but it has a lot of interesting ideas for abilities (with some redundancy) and is very aesthetically pleasant. the main issue with it is slowdown that seems unavoidable with NES games when too many sprites are on-screen at once.

not a particularly long game, but still a fairly enjoyable one. would recommend for anyone going through the Kirby series or looking through the Game Boy library

very short, and has an odd difficulty ramp right at the end, but still really enjoyable. i wish there was more of it to develop on the ideas it had because there's a lot of potential in it

let me know if you find the mystery characters

if the point is to make other people play it, is this technically a second-person game?

i really wish i could give this a higher score. i like a lot of the ideas the game has and think the design is nice but it's way too sparse for the amount of grind needed and the amount of grind needed is a bit much already. it's probably not going to get updated anytime soon (if ever) but maybe you'll get something out of playing it too. it's just unfortunate.

pretty good on its own, but modding essentially makes this more accessible mugen. it can be amazing sometimes.

i want to like this game more but i think the monetization system has somehow managed to completely taint it. it's like the entire game is within some uncanny valley of marketing, where despite how much i should like it i'm not able to

edit: after trying to pick it up for the first time in about 2 years, i spent 5 minutes waiting for the game to start up and another 10 on the matchmaking screen waiting for it to find a match. i gave up after that so idk how long it would have taken but man, it's not worth it

essentially an arcade game on pc. very enjoyable if you want that kind of thing

this game has so much potential in it that will never be fully capitalized on, it's kinda sad

it's impressive how long it is, but the difficulty gets incredibly unfair by the end of it

imagine if Hunt Down the Freeman was as long as Lost Coast
