Better than the first game, but still somewhat unremarkable.

A vast improvement over the original game, but still shows its age in some places.

these controls are so clunky how are you supposed to fight anything

Refined mechanics and interface make this far and away better than its predecessors.

A vast improvement over the original game, but still shows its age in some places.

Its fast pace and difficulty make it a lot more enjoyable than the first game, in spite of a lot of frustrating design choices.

This game is really well made. The sprites and music are great, and it's decently fun, but it's often bogged down by retro game bullshit. Enemies stunning you when you get hit, instant death spikes, instant death pits, it's often not clear whether going down is another room or a death pit, and one of the first levels uses a darkness gimmick that just makes these problems worse.

A solid engine and a huge amount of mod support make for a consistently fun way to play with friends.

A brilliant combination of platformer and roguelike that's always a blast to play through.

Well done story, gameplay, and aesthetic. Overall very solid.

I have wasted way too much time on this game.

A refined and enjoyable platformer, though some questionable level design holds it back.

Despite carrying over some annoying design choices from the source games, it's still quite a well made and enjoyable tribute to those classics.

oh my god stop making me do these stupid challenges that should be optional
