the first 2d beat em up i've ever fully played through, and it was great! challenging, satisfying combat, combined with a very generous checkpoint system, creates a really great experience. loved it!

such a comfy game. feels like throwing on a tv show before bed. loved it

chill as heck dude

everytime i played a little bit, i'd end up with some of the catchy tunes stuck in my head. it's great. play this game if you haven't

these turtles sure are fun to play as! looks like i need to play the snes version too

not great! it's entirely playable and easily consumed in one sitting, but it's hard to make a good recommendation for this game when Captain Commando came out the same year, yknow?

some neat ideas here and there, a lot of which have been more fully realized in games like streets of rage 4. still a fun time though with some fun combat (that may or may not feel a bit too slow).

every game on here is great in it's own right and gives a really good base knowledge for people unfamiliar with the genre. worth every penny and i highly recommend picking it up.

one of the more unique arcade beat em ups i've played, and i really enjoyed it. customizing your robot's build is really fun and finding ways to use that build to beat bosses is extremely satisfying. if you like beat em ups, play this one for sure.

pretty much an improvement on everything Knights of the Round did and follows through on a lot of the potential that game had. if you’ve gotta pick between two (idk why you would), then i’d say go with this one.

a simple, fun beat em up with really heavy and satisfying combat —yet i felt the actual amount of damage done was a bit less than i’d like. this makes the (admittedly, disappointing) boss fights more difficult than they should be. there’s so much potential in this game, and i think that’s why it feels a bit more lacking than usual. i still recommend checking it out tho

i really like the speed and weight of the fighters in this game. feels faster and more responsive than virtua fighter, easier to control than tekken, and not too fast to get overwhelmed like in a lot of 2d fighters. i liked this a lot, looking forward to trying others in the series

pretty standard arcade beat em up with some power ups that make the game worth finishing. not perfect whatsoever, but it's fun. just some odd decisions made, like why add ledges if the enemies can't fall off of them? why are some of the better special moves mapped to a quarter circle + jump? why give the final boss 3 full bars of health? very quarter munchy so i'd recommend playing with infinite credits.

still had fun with with it tho, just as a game that released the same year as Battle Circuit, it's pretty easy to pick this one apart.

the pinnacle of beat em ups with ostriches

im already thinking about replaying this one. oddly enough, i just noticed that this game released 25 years ago today.

that final boss is insanely tough. sweet game tho

a combination of two of my favorite genres, so obviously i was gonna like this one. fun game!
