An etching of a once fun time on the Stonehenge that is the Dracula novel's legacy.
Castlevania is definitely an NES game, that I'm certain of in its difficulty and snappy soundtrack, heard time and time again in later entries. This game is passable for its time, you can certainly play from start to finish if you must, but I think 3-4 levels is the best experience this game can offer before it gets a little too difficult and leans harder into the unfair arcade game-y difficulty.

The lives system as a whole is an antiquated and annoying hold over from an era of arcade gaming, I can't stand saving is only possible after building stages, and goddamn that difficulty curve kicks my ass every single time but I still love this game. It's beloved & charming game which has withstood the test of time and the exploration aspect excites me each time I play.
