2016

Still one of the best FPS out there, however on a second playthrough I was a bit annoyed by the platforming sections

The level design is a bit shit and the story’s uninteresting, but, man, this combat system! It’s fast, forces you to attack and stay active ; hard but also pretty lenient to the player. Team Ninja keeps winning.

Far from being the worst game in the series and the beginning is very much excellent, but I just don’t vibe with first person Resident Evil. Yes, it makes the game scarier, but it’s also harder to navigate and find hidden stuff.

Sometimes I wish I wasn’t a completionist who forces himself to finish every game he plays.

Now I understand why people say it’s the worst mainline FF. Thank God for all the various help you can toggle in the Pixel Remastered edition.

Neither a good RPG nor a good character action game. The system was oversimplified to the point of becoming boring. Somewhere in there, though, there are good foundations for an action-oriented FF. But, for now, for a good action FF experience, play Stranger of Paradise instead.

A totally different beast than BOTW. I don't know which one I have liked the most, but both games are among the best I’ve ever played, and it’s been a while since I was so captivated by a video game.

Deeply emotional story that moved me so damn much. This one's gonna haunt me for a while.

Would've like a bit more improvements in terms of visuals and gameplay, and the mini-games are probably among the worst in the series... but, damn, the story is so great that I can forgive every flaw. An excellent ride with excellent characters.

Also, can we talk about the flamenco boss theme?

I love the SteamWorld universe that Image & Form created ; I love their ability to always design great and addictive gameplay loops. With that said, I think Heist might be my least favorite one of the bunch. The idea of a 2D tactical is great, and while aiming is not always easy, it's part of the fun. I had a good time, but it lacks a bit of depth and can get a bit repetitive (as its forgettable music) towards the end.

5/5 for the hats, though.

An incredibly mid game, which makes the worst mistake a video game can make: its first ten hours are better than the rest. There's a reason why everyone was super hyped at first, then turned away from it pretty quickly.

The Harry Potter world is very well captured, with a world that lacks life but that you want to wander through. But the rest of Hogwarts Legacy is designed in spite of common sense, with too few spells, the fact that Merlin's trials require a consumable is silly, having to use a "spell" to feed and pet animals even more so (why not put a contextual action button?), the broom is slow and the sky full of invisible walls, the combat system is shallow and repetitive, and the story sucks.

Beautiful for the time, that's for sure, but overall a game that feels rushed and absolutely subpar to the first one. Poor enemy encounter variety and the gravity-based puzzles are a lame idea. But most importantly the guns feel bad, they have no power nor impact, it feels like you're playing with water guns.

I didn't knew it was possible to get such graphics from the N64. But, even putting that aside, it's such a great experience, it has a sort of frantic arcade craziness that makes putting down the controller impossible. If it wasn't for MM, this would be the best game on the console.

Good golfing RPG, but I think it's a bit lacking compared to Mario Tennis: Power Tour.

Surprisingly deep tennis RPG with the best tennis gameplay you could offer on a GBA. It may be the best Mario sports game Camelot has ever made.
