An absolutely enchanting game, with beautiful graphics, lovely music, and a simple but great concept : Mickey can switch costumes which will give him different abilities. Only downside is that the game is very, very easy.

Giving it a slightly better grade than the previous two because the roster is better IMHO, but the story mode is now gone which frankly is a HUGE loss. Gameplay is still as dull as the previous two games. There are much better options on this systems.

It did make some noise at the time, because it was DBZ, because it was a DBZ fighting game which, believe it or not, was uncommon (most DB / DBZ games at the time were adventure / RPGs / visual novels) - it had original mechanics like flying / split screen, but at the end of the day, it was pretty dull and uninteresting past the DBZ license with poor gameplay and non fun fights. Street Fighter II Turbo came out at the same time and was a better game on all counts.

All the features from the previous game come back including the split screen and the graphics are improved. Otherwise? Not a great fighting game, with an uninteresting roster (they even went as far as adding characters from one of the worst DBZ movies that came out back on the 90s) and the only cool thing was the giant energy attacks colliding meaning you had to button mash to win the duel.

Yes, this game has a lot of problems, the fighting mechanism is so random and unfair, the AI controlled characters keep getting stuck and there is no way to keep going without them, the story is a bit dull, but it was such a refreshing adventure, the 3-player mechanism was so original at the time, and there were so few ARPGs coming out in Europe on the SNES at the time (and almost zero JRPGs) that Seiken Densetsu 2 will always have a special place in my heart.

It's pretty. It's very, very pretty. Absolutely phenomenal graphics, pushing the Super Famicom to its limits. Fantastic music and great animation. AI of the companions was improved over the previous game too. The fighting gameplay though still has the same issues as the previous games. Unfortunately, the story is quite bland and the quest ends up being a bit boring.

Is it a remake ? Is it a new episode ? I usually consider Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts to be a standalone third episode in the Ghosts 'n Goblins franchise, even though there are a lot of similarities between it and the original Ghouls 'n Ghosts. A very nice game nonetheless, which adds gorgeous graphics and great music to the extremely punishing difficulty the series is known for.

A fantastic concept, mixing platform/action with city building / god game / sim. Gorgeous graphics, phenomenal soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro. Gameplay during action sequences is a bit rough, though.

A mediocre port of a game that was, if I'm being honest, already quite broken in the arcades. Graphics and music are disappointing. Takara did a better job on other platforms.

A timeless classic. It might not be as shiny and frantic as its biggest competition at the time Sonic the Hedgehog, but its depth, size and replayability made it stand out. Still one of the all best in the Mario series.

Squaresoft and Nintendo teamed up to create a visually enchanting, musically pleasing and overall fantastically crafted Mario-themed JRPG. What can be considered the founding pillar of two different RPG series (Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi) is still an absolute classic, full of humor and still lots of fun to play by modern standards.

An interesting reboot of the Adventure Island franchise, getting rid of all the RPG elements introduced in the previous games and going back to the origin of the series. Energy depletes as you go and you need to keep eating fruit to refill it. Gorgeous graphics and an absolutely fantastic soundtrack add up to a fun and great game.

To this day, still the absolute best of the series. Venture through three generations of heroes in an epic quest where some choices have real repercussions. A heartful and touching story, with lovely graphics and great music. A fantastic quest.

A massive disappointment after the previous episode. The story is uninspired and not riveting, while the clear ripoff of A Link To The Past's light / dark worlds mechanisms is not working at all as it is incredibly hard to differentiate both worlds since they look the same. It ends up being confusing and annoying. A true letdown.

A solid remake of the original classics. The first Dragon Quest is not that great, and can be finished in a handful of hours. The second Dragon Quest greatly expands on the first game and brings several improvements. The formula will be even more perfected however with the third game.
