the best of the best
dont trust this list yet i need to redo it
20 Games
such a substantial jump in quality from the first shadow hearts, with gameplay changes like judgement ring customization and an insane combo system (that they somehow managed to improve in ftnw) among many others, and a very fleshed out and lived in world portraying ww1 well, coupled with a cast of charming characters and a tear‐jerking story ‐ if i said everything i loved about this game it'd take ages, but you'll know what i mean when you play it.
can you feel the heat?
when the tires kiss the street...
honestly just the best game ever idk what to tell you. play it yourself if you don't believe me i'm literally right

in place for the first 3 suda games (except 25th ward, need to finish it)
the fact that killer7 has only 40% of its planned content and the outcome is THIS good really tells you a lot about suda's works

even though their games use the same genres, each treasure game has a unique premise that distinctly separates them from each other, and i think alien soldier is the perfect example of this. take the already established formula of gunstar heroes and morph it into a hardcore back to back boss rush with difficulty to the max. the insane difficulty is a huge reason on why i love it - it may seem impossible at first, but when the game clicks with you, it feels like ecstasy.

i need another replay to fully flesh out my thoughts on this game (so its placement may not be permanent) but holy shit i was not expecting it to be this good....
this or persona 4 on a good day
gameplay is dogwater without speedup but everything else is survival horror perfection, not to mention the fully mocapped cutscenes help elevate the vibes of this game so much, especially that one cutscene, you'll know what i mean if you played the game
might not be the best but it gets points for defining the character action genre and doing a damn good job of reigning supreme before its successors released. I do miss the horror aspect that this game brought to the table, that and the entire game is just good shit.
in place for both adventure games, but i just want to talk about sa2 for a bit
it's a real shame this game's been shat on a lot recently ‐ it easily has the best elements of the franchise, with the exhilarating feeling you get from perfecting those sonic/shadow stages, finally finding that damn chaos emerald in the hunting stages (their moveset is so much better than sa1 to make up for the large stages, just get good!)and racking up big combos in mech stages feelin like crack.
i feel like a lotta people play this game once and fuck off, but with the inclusion of the ranking system it adds a ton of replay value. the other missions really make you see just how much detail they added into these levels in the short amount of time it took for them to make this game. and of course, this game easily got the best sonic story ever, no competition, and too many people have talked about it already so i don't need to go into any detail about it.

i'm still fucking mad that of all the sega games getting recognition now, this is the one they skim over
I don't need to say anything. It's perfect.
such a jarring entry compared to it's predecessors when you see it at first glance, but the intro sold me on the game right away. I'd say the drifting in this game is even better than type 4, and it's later entries due to the cars having a solid weight to them, meaning drifting feels satisfying and not your car skidding on ice in order to get nitrous. the tough ai as well is just beautiful, they can get frustrating at times but it's such a rewarding difficulty curve. I need to write a review on this properly someday
forgot to write a review for this but this game just blasts you with extreme energy, from the tight gameplay to the insane songs, it's an experience that my words can't do enough justice, please play it. (or at least listen to the legendary theme if you're lazy) just be ready to go through input lag hell if you're not playing on original hardware.
in place for the entire bomberman series, minus a few shitstains
easily the series i have the most nostalgia for. simple addictive puzzle gameplay with every single game variating and expanding the formula in so many creative ways (e.g. bomberman 2 ds, bomberman generation) that always turn out to be bangers. i will never understand how you can't like a series like this

y7 could go here, but i want to keep this list to one game per series
the only yakuza game to really go balls out with everything, kinda having second thoughts on its spot on the list now that i have some idea of whatever the plot was about. a wonderful experience nonetheless, and there's something in here for everyone to enjoy, yakuza fan or not.
