First game I played in a very long time where it felt like my choices really mattered. This shit must've been groundbreaking in 2012, and is no less impressive today. The combat feels slick and the animations are satisfying, but the amount of weight your decisions have made playing around with all that feel very consequential (I got the bad ending, of course), but I think this is one of those games that is way better on a replay. The environments and art direction are really cool, there's so much worldbuilding and detail to be found throughout. Will definitely replay in the future.

a short but overall really fun ride from start to finish. Whenever i played any other game, i just wished it had traversal like this one. It's not without fault, the controls on pc and some of the timing for certain moves like 180 wall jump can be a bit clunky, but overall its pretty smooth. I like how you can complete the game pacifist, but there's no actual reason to besides a trophy you can get, which was disappointing. definitely a must play with how short it is and for how cheap you can get it these days.

truly an all-in-one experience that just went under the radar when GTA clones were big. The combat has clunk, and the game can get very repetitive after some time, but it's still a must play if you're a fan of asian martial arts movies. I love how heightened everything with vehicles is, with anything you shoot the tires of exploding within 5 seconds. The combat has medium depth and its a shame we will never get a sequel, because I think with some refinement of this formula, we couldve had something great

pretty good for a remaster to be honest. A new mode and features are appreciated, they definitely knew there wasn't much room for improvement in other areas. 10 dollars for the upgrade is actually worth it, No Return is such a fun mode and im glad they added it. I wish there were skins for more than just 2 guns per character though. On the rest of the game, 4K looks super crisp now, reflections on pools of blood and light bouncing off skin looks slightly more real, but if you've played this game a lot, you'll notice. I'd say its worth a buy even if you haven't played before, its just 10% more immersive and the rougelike mode is a nice comedown from the daunting story.

kind of more of the same, not entirely a bad thing, but a lot shorter than the first game while also feeling a bit dragged out at times? It's still good fun though, and the production level feels more pro which is cool.

out of touch, silent hill is better when the things that scare you are somewhat timeless, this is just PT if it was boring and not scary. half my playtime on this game is just me leaving my playstation on while i scrolled through my phone. I feel bad for all the talent that was put into this limp attempt at a silent hill comeback, I can't believe how i'd feel if i paid for this.

i did my first playthrough and was not disappointed. max payne holds up. i really liked everything it went for gameplay wise, the john woo action stuff. the gameplay is super fun and can feel cinematic at times. besides some technical issues and the platforming segments, this is a perfect game

Unsurprisingly, this game came out in the renaissance year of gaming, 2007. For me, this is the entry into the series that I rarely think about, and I haven't touched the game since 2016, so it was relatively fresh to me. The cast is charismatic as hell, and Nate and Elena have great chemistry on screen. The story is a familiar but fun take on an indiana jones style treasure hunt adventure. It's upbeat, funny, light, and intriguing all at the same time. The gameplay is where this one suffers though. Basically all enemy encounters are the same, especially for the first half of the game where you have about 4 weapons total to choose from, until the second half where they just throw like 6 more guns at you. And for being the gun on the cover, the moss-12 (beginning shotgun), sucks dick. It's so bad. The cover shooter gameplay isn't horrible, but I'll tell you what is: THE JETSKI SECTIONS.
The jetski sections are one of the worst sections of gameplay ive ever had to play in a naughty dog game, no, a playstation exclusive game in my fucking life. That stupid ass jet ski can eat my shorts. It can't go upriver for shit, you need to stop in place for elena to do literally anything, why the hell cant she just shoot and i drive or vice versa why do i need to be aiming and driving it makes no fucking sense and the jet ski handles like a car with no tires, its actually so bad and i dont know how they kept that shit in the original game and how it got past playtesters it was so bad bro
The climbing isnt too hot in this game either, i probably died more to bs falls than enemies shooting at me, im glad they improved on it in further entries. Gameplay wise its really mediocre and doesn't hold up in a lot of sections, it's the entertaining story and promise of being able to play the next games in the series that actually got me through it. I dont think ill ever play this one again, It was probably amazing at the time but this may be my least favorite of the franchise.

(SPOILERS)

the ending twist was weird for me. It sets the game apart from the rest of the series, giving it a more unapologetic supernatural element for a series that stayed relatively grounded if you look past the fact nathan drake survived 4 games worth of this shit. It is a very indiana jones - esque twist, but tonally it feels weird compared to the rest of the series. Naughty dog should totally make an actual horror game though, i feel like they could knock it out of the park if they did something survival horror that is scarier than the last of us

The Last of Us 2 taste so good when u aint got a bitch in ya ear telling you its nasty

Ive replayed this game countless times over 5 years since its release in 2018. It was really something special when it came out, and it still holds up mostly. Combat isn't anything crazy, and i find it very weird when it's compared to batman when arkham combat couldn't be more different. But this game produces a solid as hell base in every aspect. MJ and Miles missions when you dont have super powers do slow the pace down, but theyre really not worth the complaining some people do for them. MJ's last mission is actually not bad, since you can take guards out with a taser gun. I've replayed this game so much that I remember most of the routes though, instafail stealth is probably frustrating the first time you play through. This game has a great story with some cornball disney channel ass dialogue at times, but its fine since its spiderman and thats just how he is. The setpieces and characters are great, and side content like bases and that sort of thing is fun turn your brain off content for after you beat the story. Suit selection is also pretty awesome, though DLC suits were hit or miss at times. Speaking of, the DLC is pretty good, but probably the least memorable part of the game for me? Ive completed them a couple times, but I cant ever seem to remember what happens in them from start to finish. It's definitely solid as hell, and insomniac really sets their spiderman apart from the countless others in the best possible way here.

Shorter than the first game, the story isn't untouchable or anything but it's fun and a nice showcase for the ps5's potential. The one main complaint is that Miles sounds younger than he was in the 2018 game. You get used to it over the playthrough, its just weird. The story is predictable but has some good spider-man moments and there's a lot to enjoy from the gameplay side. Combat has a new added layer, the air tricks system is expanded on in this game, suit damage looks nice, and the game looks genuinely beautiful at times. It's not as replayable as the 2018 game though, this must have been the 5th playthrough (im not a psycho, i platinumed it when i played on ps4 and did it again when i got a ps5) and I definitely was running out of steam on this game. I normally never skip cutscenes but the game doesn't really start getting super interesting until 60% of the way through. I'd say its worth playing for anyone invested in the universe, on a gameplay level its all improved, and the story element is a little watered down but its still enjoyable.

This is a $70 love letter to the character and his history, and a $70 gift basket full of assorted muffins and baked goods for the fans. The game has a shorter story than SMPS4, but boy what it does with that time... Cause every single mission in this game is like the missions from Spider-Man 2018 took hella whippets and smoked a LOT of meth and decided to drive a jet ski off the grand canyon without web wings or a parachute. The main story is given in such concentrated doses, on a first playthrough I audibly went "holy shit" multiple times. This game is built on spectacle. Characters in this game are also done so well. The past 2 games had a few issues with some cornball quips and disney channel dialouge ("hes right behind me isnt he...") but the writing in this game improves on that fact. Kraven is so menacing and steals the show every time he's on screen. Venom looks like a prerender in every scene he's in, you can tell how hard they worked on his look. Miles and Peter have this really wholesome bromance and their chemistry is palpable. Mary Jane's relationship with Peter is also further fleshed out, as well as her missions.
They took every piece of criticism for the MJ mission in the first game and actually listened. You can see the last of us 2's influence on these missions. The stealth is done pretty well for a part of the game that is pretty minimal. I genuinely cant wait to see how they improve on it further in the next game. I do feel like she should ditch the pedestrian clothes and wear something that looks more.. safe? She needs armor or something, just hurt my immersion a bit.
Like that, many gameplay aspects in spider-man 2 are elevated to some extent. Car stopping crimes? They're actually fun now and you can breeze through them very quickly. Boss fights? They're less like dodge, dodge, punch punch punch, repeat and more like a real one on one fight with a villain. Its really cool.
On the technical level, this game is amazing as well. I noticed only a frame dip once in a cutscene. Otherwise its actually crazy what they did with both performance and fidelity mode. This game is optimized to hell and back.
As for side content, side missions made a big step forward. At least, some of them did. Theres a story line or 2 that actually has cutscenes and feels like a part of the main story. But the majority of them feel more like what was in the first two games where you talk to a character and beat up the guys and get some xp out of it. I hope that in the next game, side missions will be more like the side missions in arkham knight, where the majority of them don't feel like a downgrade in production quality. I think if there was one more enemy type and more bases to complete, that would have been better. You cant redo the enemy bases in this game like you could in the first one, I just wanted more excuses to be able to beat the shit out of a large number of criminals.
I also do wish the main story was a tad bit longer? Maybe 2-3 hours more would have been better, as there were some elements of the game I wish they lingered on for a bit longer.
This is a must play for any fan of the series or the character, it's so fun and theres so much to love about it. Insomniac have almost perfected their superhero formula, and I hope it just keeps getting better.

Going into this game with all the negative press surrounding it had my expectations low. Word of mouth hit this game HARD. That being said.. it's actually pretty good. But it's not without its faults. The graphical fidelity in this game is really really good 99% of the time. I didn't crash once in my 10 hour playtime. The fidelity mode is harsh on this game. A 30fps target feels more like its hitting 20-25 most of the time. The motion blur is easily the worst part of this game, visually speaking. Whoever designed it to look like this might need to get fired bro. It looks like actual dog shit. This game already struggles with being visually readable in combat, but add a 30fps cap and this disgusting motion blur, and its an absolute clusterfuck. Seriously, the motion blur actually destroys this game visually, and its so weird because you only need it on to smooth out the game when its running at 4K. But the blur is so bad it literally makes the resolution look fucking WORSE SOMEHOW. Performance mode with no motion blur is the way to play this game.
For what this game does right, it's actually a lot. First off, the use of haptic is actually amazing and adds so much to the experience. When using your stun baton, you feel this really sick mechanical whirring, mixed with the animations and sound design, it really feels convincing and less like a weightless video game melee. If there's a nearby monster causing a ruckus while you're going down the stairs, you feel the vibration of that rickety staircase that might collapse on the next step you take. Haptics are more immersive than I've experienced with other PS5 titles.
Art direction is also very solid, and the last of us influence can be felt.
Gore is pretty good, but the death animations are meh. Sometimes they're mildly disturbing, other times you just kinda die. I was expecting more horrifying and brutal death animations like the ones in dead space, but they're serviceable.
The combat is clunky, to say the least. There's no feasible way to create distance between yourself or the enemy with a back step option or quick 180 feature to retreat for reload or anything like that. Not to mention your character likes to run as slow as he can for the entire game, up to the last 30 seconds of gameplay where he reveals he's been able to sprint the ENTIRE TIME. I wouldn't say it's underdeveloped though, it's very satisfying & only as repetitive as you make it for yourself, because I had more fun with it when I remembered all the other abilities I had at my disposal. Combat can be really hard to read visually sometimes, from the camera shakes etc. It can sometimes get in your way, and lead to your death which is frustrating.
There's some cool concepts, like the lock on feature to chain baton & gun attacks for quicker kills.
The worst is when the game tries to be a shooter though. But instead, there's a select few enemies you have to just empty all of your ammo on to kill because its basically suicide to try to land even one hit on them. This game should have played to its strengths and doubled down on the melee combat, using guns more as a last resort than anything else. But again, its serviceable. Worldbuilding is cool, and when you step out of the tight corridors to see the entire planet of jupiter in the sky it's genuinely amazing. I would have liked to spend more time outside in this game, because that's where I feel like it's at its best.
Story is a solid 6-7/10, minus the really bad DLC bait at the end. Above average, held my interest, and had decent dialouge. It is definitely not scary at all though, even the jumpscares are pretty weak, coming from someone who gets scared really easily. That's all I can really say about that. The Callisto protocol is really immersive, has great graphics, an interesting world, and lacks a little bit of depth in combat. But it's still fun. Something you can play once and be entertained by. If you have ps+, it's worth picking up this October.

This is the Batman game I’ve played the most of. Batman Arkham Origins was my introduction to pc gaming, and I remember my little 5th grade ass being so excited every time the release date to Arkham knight got closer, and so sad every time it got pushed back. I’ve beat it roughly 6-7 times to date, and by no means is it absolutely perfect.
But…
This is the height of the Batman experience. The combat has been absolutely refined and has so much depth as the 4th entry into the series. Stealth is eat its peak as well, all the gadgets are great supplementaries, and the traversal is at its peak. Accelerating your bat tank through the streets of Gotham to shoot out at breakneck speed into the air is such a sick feeling. Gliding is fast as ever and honestly makes replaying the older entries feel sluggish. The character design is really good as well. I love scarecrow especially, who looks like a mushed up banana with a flour sack on top of him, after killer croc mangled him in the sewers of Arkham asylum. Batman’s suit looks so good in this one. Some people don’t really like the military aesthetic of it, but I think it strikes a perfect balance. The headpiece is so sleek and sharp, the shoulder pads broadens Batman’s striking appearance, the entire look of the suit is definitely one of my favorites in any Batman media. Graphics are fucking unreal for 2015. The rain and it being nighttime helps, but god damn this shit looks better than some games released today due to the development time and attention to detail. The story is not as terrible as some people make it out to be. After Arkham city, which most consider to be the best Batman story in the series (I can’t speak to that, I honestly need a replay) Arkham knight was for some reason a serious letdown for those fans. I honestly think it’s worth your time. The Arkham knight reveal is predictable and I wish it was someone else under the mask, but I guess it works for what it is. I’m not going to speak too much on it just because I’m sure nostalgia plays a part, but having recently played through the story twice on PC, I can say it holds up. What I’m really impressed by is the side content. Every side mission feels on par with the production value of the story. There’s cutscenes and most of them are varied and fun to complete. DLC content is absolutely worth it too. There’s like 5 dlc expansions that you can play through which range from decent-very good in terms of narrative and gameplay quality. Batgirls DLC is definitely the best one. Suit selection is huge, with not just Batman’s suits to choose from. You can customize every playable character which is a great addition. To address the elephant in the room.. yeah there’s a lot of bat tank. There’s a good chunk of the game you’re put into it. But honestly, I think that the bad pc port at launch and the fact most people were playing this game on console locked at 30fps was a huge detriment to the tank features. If you can get your hands on this game on PC today and play it at 60fps+ with keyboard and mouse, you can fly through the tank sections really easy. It’s honestly ridiculous how much more natural it feels over controller. Despite it’s flaws, this game is insanely repayable to me, and I’ll probably come back to it every few years. I wish you could do more than 1 new game plus per save file though. Definitely the definitive Batman experience.

Literally perfect in every way. This was my very first fromsoft title, and to an extent the only one I really “get.” I’ve been playing through bloodborne and a bit of elden ring, taking in the art direction, atmosphere, and combat… but yet I stop to think about why I’m playing them for. I love a challenge and want to experience what these games have to offer. Yet I don’t feel any desire to entertain the idea of a new game +. When you get stuck on an area in bloodborne there is nothing you can do but grind souls and level up. In sekiro, the solution is to just learn. Fromsoft has hit it out of the park before with previous titles they’re not this. Nothing like this. Maybe I’m missing something to really understand the other souls like games, I still enjoy them but this game brings me a whole other level of satisfaction. The reward of playing sekiro is the gameplay itself. The combat is absolutely perfected and the only way the game could be better would be if there were more bosses and more areas and more everything (i.e. a sequel)
