I will always advocate for more media centered around living with a disability. What separates Katawa Shoujo is the emphasis on the emotional impact of disabilities rather than the physical. Emi's story is about her grief of someone else from her accident, Shizune's is about her want for control since she can't be independent, Hanako's is about her anxiety from having a visible disability, Rin's is about how other people think she could never be successful due to her disability, and Lilly's is her unwillingness to rely on others in any way and pushing away relationships because of this. I know it's overall not the most well written fiction in existence, but until there's a plethora of stories focusing on similar themes I'll gladly give this a high rating.

Your enjoyment will be entirely determined on whether you like the relationship between Squall and Rinoa. If you don't, like me, then the game has little else going for it. This game has my least favorite plot twist in any story. The junction system isn't poorly designed and leads to the same problem as FF7 where using magic is sub-optimal so fights just consist of regular attacking. The graphics are a huge step up from FF7 and of course the music is always great.

This is by far my favorite PS1 FF game. The game fixes the awful combat balancing of 7 and 8 so casting spells is actually useful. The music is always good, and the graphics somehow are a huge step up again. Oddly my biggest complaint with this game is the characters, which since 4 has the been the highlight of the series for me. The first four party members are well developed, Vivi being one of the best FF characters ever, but the back half are barely developed. Quina and Amarant have nearly no identity, and Eiko feels like she's there for just a plot point. Freya is my favorite as she combines the archetypes of Kain and Rydia from 4, who are my two favorite characters from my favorite entry, but her story gets relatively little focus and this was very disappointing to me. Otherwise though a fantastic game.

Oddly the best NES FF game. It has a leveling system that actually works, unlike 2, and while 3 is a more interesting job system 1 doesn't have the Crystal Tower so I can actually beat it without wanting to quit. Either way though I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone to actually play. The NES version is surprisingly buggy, and while later versions fix this the game itself it's not too exciting. The spells are all fairly simple and the biggest customization decision you make is at the start of the game when choosing classes. The rest of the game is fairly standard RPG, which while this is the game that made those conventions standard, there are much better entries to play today.
1991
This is my favorite entry in the series. Combat wise the game works incredibly well. The ATB system is a genius way to combine turn based and action elements. The characters are well varied and interconnected. The battles never get dull due to constantly having different party members with different classes. My favorite version is the DS/Steam but others prefer PSP for a 2D experience or easier gameplay. The main reasons someone would dislike this entry is based on your suspension of disbelief. The plot has some ludicrous twists that come out of nowhere, and while I enjoy them for ensuring I have no idea where the story is going, others dislike the sparatic story. Overall, a must play for any JRPG fan.

Amazing game. I've beaten it four times. I've only done 100% one time though and it just wasn't fun. Getting most of the ultimate weapons is a terrible experience. You should definitely play the game, and beating Omega Weapon is fun and easily doable, but don't worry about the other superbosses like the Dark Aeons.
