Easily one of my favorite games ever now. The gameplay was addicting and I surprisingly seldom found myself bored. Easily has the best gameplay in the mgs series. I also liked the base management aspect, and it was really fun to build up Diamond Dogs. My only main issues are that I felt the story was too short but even so there were so many great moments. And the ending was probably the 2nd/best ending in the 4 mg games I’ve played. Really want to play peace walker now but it’s not really available.

Very mixed feelings on this game but overall I think I liked it. I thought the early game was pretty weak at times and definitely could’ve been better in both level design and boss catalogue. I thought the overall exploration and the decision to set itself apart from dark souls 1 in vibe and world design were good things. I also enjoyed the endgame, almost contrary to Ds1 whose endgame was much worse from its beginning. I really enjoyed Dragon Shrine, and enjoyed Ancient Dragon and I think it’s overhated. I also loved the dlcs and think they are the best parts of this game in level design and bosses, with their inter-connectivity reminding me of Ds1’s in a way no other sections prior did. I think the Throne of Want trio was very weak, and I think Nashandra is one of the worst in the game. There’s also other gameplay gripes I have but I’m starting to get bored writing this. Overall a good game that is very flawed and had the chance to succeed Ds1 but fell very short.
Also should add I skipped two bosses: Darklurker and the cat duo in Frigid Outskirts but I doubt they’d have any impact on my opinion of the game.

I think I now fully get the love for Souls. This game was phenomenal with amazing level design, solid bosses, and a great system of progression as well. The DLC was also great, and all 4 bosses in it were some of my favorites. Just a masterpiece of a game and it ages very well.
Also why did y’all lie about Gwyn being easy? Y’all said Manus, Artorias, O&S, and Sif were all skill checks, but why did those have less combined attempts than Gwyn for me? Anyways y’all should play this🙌

Going into this I didn’t really expect too much from the game but it was surprisingly very fun. The level design was phenomenal with all the levels being so different from the others and just very well put together, and the three stories and how they progressed were kinda intriguing. What’s also cool is I still have to complete the villain missions and I have a lot of stuff to collect in post game. Overall I feel like this game is just well made and had care put into it.
