Finished "The Signal" and played through the entirety of "The Writer:"
Both of these "Special Episodes" very cleverly reuse assets from the main game, and here Remedy pushes the more surreal imagery and environments for some really entertaining sequences, including some really neat combat sequences that skew closer to the wonderful concert defense sequence from the main game than the claustrophobia of running in the woods of the flying TVs of "The Signal." These extra episodes don't seem all that necessary to the larger story at play especially in regards to Alan Wake II (American Nightmare also seems to be more of a side story), but they're fun romps and absolutely worth playing.
