Cash grab. I'm a massive fan of both Dragon Maid and bullet hell style games, and not only is this a bad Dragon Maid game, but it's also a bad bullet hell game. I wouldn't recommend this game at all, unless you're a massive fan of the series like I am. This game has a really cheap looking art style, basic bullet hell gameplay with no depth at all and music is generic. The saving grace of this game is the illustrations of the girls by Coolkyou, which you can get by just simply looking up the artwork for this game.

If you want to see more of these girls, just read the manga or watch the anime, if you want a game with game play like this, then just play Touhou.

Drag-On Dragoon!
A story of a desperate yet bloodthirsty man who seeks out revenge on the empire who took nearly everything from him. This man is Caim, and desperate to continue living after being severely injured and on the brink of death, he makes a pact with a beast of the same species of the one who killed his parents, a dragon. In exchange for his and the dragons continued lifespan, he sacrifices his voice and the story begins here. If that doesn't sound like one of the coolest premises for a story ever, I don't know what does.

Drakengard is one of the coolest video games I've ever played, you can play in three different level stage modes, a stage mode where you fly on the back of the dragon in the sky, fighting airborne enemies, a stage mode where you fly around in the air but fight ground enemies, and a stage mode where you battle alone on the ground in a Dynasty Warriors type of game play, and although that is the most common yet least interesting stage mode type in this game, the variety is still incredibly awesome.

The game's plot isn't too interesting and may be a bit cliche for a lot of people, but for an avid lover of dragons, revenge stories and man versus society type of themes, this story was insanely awesome. But what really made this game stand out for me was just how beautiful the bond between Caim and the Dragon became, born from desperation and dependency growing into understanding and willing. Their relationship is explored differently through the various branches of the story, and can vary of heartbreaking to beautiful.

I don't have a lot to say about the visuals, it isn't really my type of thing at all, but I did appreciate how it did convey a darker and serious story than I'm used to a lot of the time, though that's only because I'm not used to playing games that look like this a lot, it may just be generic looking to most people.

Lastly, the music. I like it. The soundtrack was composed by Nobuyoshi Sano and Takayuki Aihara, composers I am not familiar with at all, Aihara apparently did something for Children of Mana, but yeah. The soundtrack is decent and nothing to write home about, but I quite enjoyed it for this story. It isn't something I would listen to on my own, but I will admit for this game it does really well, giving off this spooky, serious and heated atmosphere, fitting for a slaughtering sociopath out for revenge with his dragon partner.

Now that I'm done singing praises about this game, what keeps it from being an absolute masterwork for me? The game play, while awesome in concept, could really do some reworking to be something truly great, I mentioned how having three stage types made the game feel like it had variety, it does, but in each moment and in each individual stage, they tend to feel very samey and kinda boring, this is especially true about the ground battles. I also feel like most of the characters are really uninteresting and sometimes I just want to skip what they are saying to proceed this story. The story can also be weirdly paced because of the less interesting aspects of the story that involve those rather boring characters.

Overall though, I thought this game was really cool! And I look forward to seeing what this series has to offer, I originally went into it with the intention of playing Automata first, but I think these games are cooler because it has something to keep my attention, dragons, so lets hope the next entry is better than the first! Despite not being directed by Yokotaro, yes I will play Drakengard 2 next.

The best game in the series, awesome character customization, the game-play at its best, my favorite soundtrack in the series, my favorite artwork and story in the series, and I if you ever get into this series, please make this your last.

A really cool concept, basically a cross of Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon series, the music is really good and the dialogue and talking to NPC's and exploration is really fun, though it does have a really steep learning curve that I think won't be really good for beginners, start with a mainline Etrian Odyssey game and a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game first. I just think the controls aren't really comfortable to play and the AI is really annoying.

To a lot of people, this is just a walking simulator with puzzles, for me it's a compelling meta-narrative staring one of the most likable protagonists I've ever had the pleasure of controlling, with beautiful visuals, very atmospheric and immersive music to vibe to, and entertaining writing.

Oneshot is the kind of game that's hard to explain on a much deeper level to others without ruining the story for them, its the type of story you can only truly persuade, while giving away the best aspects of it, and in my opinion, for that reason alone, you should play it.

Yes there is a free version, and while it is also worth checking out for diehard fans, I would just say to shell your money on the steam release because the new content, new visuals, new tracks and characters make it entirely worth it. Please check it out if you have the time.

I love the Shin Megami Tensei series, specificially 1. I love RPG Maker games, whether they're good or bad. But I didn't really have a nice time with this game. The main appeal of the Shin Megami Tensei series for me, is being able to talk to different enemies and being able to recruit, summon and fuse demons. This game makes what I think is awesome about the series, and strips it to its most base form, while also making what are supposed to be fun interactions, feel like a drag to get through. The games art direction is very inconsistent, the sound design can be cool at times, but for the most part, tracks loop very noticeably which can ruin the tension for me. I do not recommend this game, but I don't think it's a lost cause and I think that there is a level of passion here. Please keep making games, I'm sure you can make something really great.

Switching between youkai and human is a fun idea and the time mechanic that this game introduces is a pretty neat addiction to the game. The art style is still pretty cursed, I don't think that will ever not be true for any of these mainline titles, but this game in particular is cute in a sort of way and I appreciate that, also the visuals are much better than the earlier entries objectively. This is a good game.

This is a very pretty game, despite some of the sprites aging like spoiled egg and some of the dialogue not translating well in English at all, this game is genuinely really fun and genuinely really pretty to look at, and it is definitely the game out of the early windows era Touhou games I recommend the most.

The visuals aged like spoiled milk, The graphics are pretty but feel kind of generic when compared to other bullet hell's and the story is basic, but who cares, this game is funny and fun as hell and the characters are memorable as fuck.

The game-play is a lot more smoother than previous entries, where moving around actually feels pretty clean and faster which is a massive step up from the previous entries in the series leaving a very good first impression for the second windows era of Touhou Project. The patterns are a lot more consistent and varied unlike previous entries, the visuals are cleaner and easier to look at, being beautiful yet not distracting, and it clearly has a consistent theme, using a lot of warmer colors to represent autumn which I really enjoy. I also have to compliment the pacing of the game, the transition between each stage is much more smoother, with none of them feeling too long nor too short.

Something that makes this game stand above many others besides the presentation though, is its very wonderful and memorable cast of characters. Each character is full of personality and their own personal identity, whether that be the confident and nerdy Sanae Kochiya or the greedy yet formal Kanako Yasaka, this cast of characters might be the third or fourth most memorable cast of characters yet.

Overall, I believe this is one of the more stronger Touhou games to come out and that I highly recommend this game for beginners just because of how much easier it is to play, and how memorable each character is in this game.

Lisa The Painful truly lives up to its name. This game is painful because your choices truly do matter, every choice you make has consequences and those consequences do affect the characters who are in it and the circumstances they are in. Not only do those choices make the game more fleshed out, but they also bring a lot of content to the table, and make this game very re-playable and fun to go back to.

This game combines turn based combat and bullet hell game-play to create one of the most fun game-plays I've ever experience before. It's funny and charming dialogue, memorable characters, emotional and dramatic music, and generic turned unique narrative make this game a 4.5 stars for me. The only things that bring the score down just a little bit is the unimpressive visuals and the archaic use of random encounters.

What is there to say about this game that hasn't said before? I'll just talk about what I thought made this game good to me personally and that was that this game perfectly illustrates how I used to see the world when I was a lot younger, and how I used to be so ignorant and naive towards a ton of darker subjects, this game presents dark themes in a childish and fun way!
