This game gets talked about a lot, and honestly? I don't get it.
There's so much better shoot 'em ups in the PC Engine catalog, let alone the rest of the systems.

Your ship moves at a snail's pace, the enemy attacks are too fast, and the sound design is absolutely awful. I'd like to say something about the music, but there's a little problem: I can't listen to it over the disgusting sounds my projectiles make.

Level design is also whatever, with the sole exception of level 4, which is also extremely short. There are like two or three memorable boss battles, but everything in this game dies after you drop one or two bombs, so who cares?

The anime girls are cute and all, but c'mon guys, Touhou??? Deathsmiles???

There’s really not much to this. It’s a cute little skateboarding game that doesn’t have much content and what’s there already is ok. Probably gonna forget I played this in like 3 days

Camera control sucks horribly but it’s still good I guess.

gameplay is rough around the edges but still functions well as a roguelite. obviously if you're playing this game it's for the vibes and art, which remain cool even on your 50th run

Honestly, there's not much I want to say about this one since I feel like my feelings are pretty similar to how they are with the first one. I think the better spritework is very nice and the power meter definitely makes the game a lot more enjoyable. The difficulty also feels better handled than the original. At the same time, I don't think this game does enough for me to want to put it a whole point higher, especially since I don't believe it meets the enjoyment level I had with some of the games in the next tier, so I think I'll leave it at an 8 with the original, but do know I like this one a bit better. Overall, pretty solid sequel that gives us more of the enjoyable playstyle of Punch-Out!! while having some upgrades from the original.

This is a competent 2D platformer. The New Super Mario Bros series is fine and all but 2D Mario games peaked with Super Mario World and Nintendo has never been able to hit that high since.

Finished playing Witcher 3. At the start I thought the combat was a little clunky but I got used to it soon enough. So much content in this game and good content as well not those “collect 900 pebbles for a random trophy” thing. Great world building and graphics were good. One annoying thing was the loading times especially when you died, they were so long for some reason. Being able to do like 30 side quests within 2 hours of playing is a little overwhelming but I enjoyed most of them. The “bosses” weren’t all that interesting imo, most of them just had loads of health. Storyline was fun and interesting, it seemed I got one of the “good” endings (didn’t even know there were multiple). For a game named the wild hunt, it’s a bit surprising you hardly see em. I feel like they could’ve done a little more on the magic side of things but it was nice to use anyway. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the game.
9/10

Think I’ll be playing TLOU remastered next.

I think I quoted the wrong song on my NFS Underground 1 review.
Welp
