Good sidescroller that started off as castlevania with guns before I started transforming into various deviantart ocs for each stage which was totally unexpected and really neat, definitely a hidden gem, please don't be like me and not realize you can eat some enemies to restore health for the entire game

the bad to the bone riff in video game form

beautiful broken ass minigolf shovelware where every level is the same assets and you can clip through obstacles with ease, probably deserves lower but to me this is the funny type of bad so it gets a pass
(also it has 108 holes not 101, false advertising smh)

lmao at 9 year old me for not being able to beat this

i'd ask them to please just make a new game for once but the last time that happened we got SIFAS so i'm just gonna keep my mouth shut

I really liked the platforming and there was a lot of creative stuff throughout, but didn't vibe with the story going all over the place and changing everything constantly. Some areas like the multiple stealth sections and a couple bosses were really unfun, especially the bosses since they're the only parts in the game that don't give you pity shields after dying enough, and the final boss in particular is actually one of the worst controlling things I've ever played. Overall though, still a unique experience I'd recommend checking out if you have it.

As banger as the concept is I feel like it doesn't work in execution. Physics feel kinda rough and bounces rarely go where I expect, run variety really doesn't seem like a thing with how few options each class has, and every run I played was just spamming left click to wipe every map turn 1 with my skill over and over.

the final level was harder for me than avoiding hogwarts legacy spoilers

i played a second version of this game because cope, I played the Turbografx CD version first and on Genesis most things are better but some key areas are much worse. Overall the game feels much more polished both in gameplay and graphics, however this is offset by the level/difficulty curve being drastically worse, often requiring multiple levels in between bosses. Additionally, some bosses like the wyvern and final boss have completely broken hitboxes that make them impossible to reliably hit without taking damage, though this can be offset with the Protect Ring or higher levels. Of course, a lot of the TG-CD novelties that made the game memorable to me like the CD-quality soundtrack and glorious dubbed voice acting are absent as well. I'd definitely still rather play that version but overall this is a close second.

I played this game for a third time because cope harder, this version is just bizarre. It has completely revamped combat and boss design, a pointless town map and church area, voice acting and a lot more dialogue, a soundtrack that pales in comparison to many of the versions before it and sounds like it would fit better on the DS, and some interesting graphics.
On one hand most of the game feels a lot better designed overall (keyword: most), but it loses a lot of its charm with many environmental details and level elements from the original versions cut (they removed the volcano in Illburns and just made it into a regular ass sunny forest that's lame af). Oath in Felghana came out like 3 months after this so I'm not really sure what was going on here, I guess they wanted to give people a modern way to play the original but it's so far removed from the previous versions that it just exists as this weird entity.

holy shit they made rogue legacy good again

Got to Surface Tensions and yeah I'm done, I can see why everyone likes this game but it's just getting too frustrating and confusing for me and I know it gets worse so it's probably best if I'm just done with it.
