It's way better than some people say.
It's just the most "platformer-based" of the Sonic series.
It's less fast, but still good.

No Sonic Team, reusing Ouranos Island and slapping a bunch of blocks all over the place while making me play as the absolute worst versions of Amy, Knuckles and Tails does not count as a new DLC. I don't even care for the revamped final boss and "fixed" story, the fact that the new playable characters control as badly as they do on a game of this scale is downright insulting and i refuse to give this any more of my time. They figured how to make these guys fun to control all the way back in 1998 and they still find NEW and INNOVATIVE ways to fuck them up. THAT'S impressive.

After being sent to the deepest circles of hell to work on Bubsy and some League of Legends spinoff, Choice Priovisions returns with the definitive way to play one of my favorite auto-runners. Everything RERUNNER does is an upgrade over the original.

- The new levels are WAY better in terms of design. They feel way less cheap then the original RUNNER levels.
- CommanderVideo himself feels more like his Runner2 counterpart, which means that he no longer feels like a laggy brick.
- Stemage's new remixes (especially the boss theme) stand toe-to-toe with the originals.
- Some cut mechanics from the original RUNNER return and they feel like such a natural addition to CV's moveset.

And if that wasn't enough, there are levels with songs from BEAT, CORE, VOID, RUNNER (the original, including it's retro challenges), FATE, FLUX, Runner2 AND Runner3. THAT'S 140 LEVELS. Not all of them are winners of course, but like, that's insane!

And of course how could i not mention the star of the show: RUNNER MAKER. A childhood dream, now on the palm of my hands. It's very fun to use, but i can't see myself making levels. I'm not exactly good at that, but i've played some online levels and they're (mostly) good!

An excellent package overall and what i believe to be the BIT.TRIP series' swansong. Can't wait to see what Choice Provisions is cooking next.

4 years. 4 years of builds, things of the week, and many WIPs, both in image and video form.

Tour de Pizza, despite being fairly new to game development (from what i've read) they have somehow managed to create not only a game that FAR surpasses it's many inspirations but it is also one of the richest, most expressive and unhinged gaming experiences i have ever had the pleasure of even seeing.

You will laugh, you will scream, you will cry. Mostly screaming.
It's a game that takes advantage of it's ludicrously goofy premise and artstyle to the extreme.
It's a game that makes it's inspirations look like prototypes of something that never came.
But most importantly, it's a game made by people who understand what makes a game FUN.

It's Pizza Tower.
Go play it, what the hell are you doing reading this?

There are no words to truly describe how fucking high-quality this is.
game would easily be in my list of favorite games of all time if the creator wasn't a fucking pedophile

Holy Shit.
HL1 was a groundbreaking marriage inbetween gameplay and story, but you can still tell there was a Doom/Quake influence. Lots of guns that felt punchy as hell, Lots of enemies from the low level fodder to the threatening grunts that all had their clear and distinct purposes in the combat puzzle, with many diverse ways to take them out.
It's primitive, but it still holds up insanely well.
It has that primary gameplay loop that made those shooters so damn good.

But... instead of expanding on what made the gameplay so great, HL2 has a greater focus on the story, there is more downtime and a greater priority on setpieces instead of perfecting HL1's combat loop, making the gameplay take a backseat, there are less enemies, WAY less guns, and overall the game has an honestly pretty boring cast of threats (gameplay-wise) that should make this game worse than the original, hell, half of the game is just shooting the same low-level combines without any real challenge, (Ravenholm being an excellent exception) but it absolutely makes up for LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE.

The artstyle, the story, the characters, the atmosphere, the level design, it's all so damn GOOD.

I don't know how they did it, but GOD DAMN.

This game is beefy as fuck and i like it for that. Even though the 3DS's CirclePad ain't the best way to play a Smash game. Making it uncomfortable to play almost all the time.

HOLY FUCK NOW THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE A SEQUEL.
Everything is an improvement. This game looks at Portal at says: "huh how cute" and goes batshit with the ideas and gameplay. It has COOP. It has a LEVEL EDITOR. IT J.K. SIMMONS LIKE C'MON MAN!
NOW THAT'S HOW YOU KNOW IT'S A GOOD GAME!

Ok what the fuck happened.
The first game was amazing, and with a sequel it could only go up. It was a good game! Then the level up system and piñatas were added. Oh god no. The difficulty is so artificially high it's impossible to enjoy the game without buying the plants that were free in the original.

mastering this game feels like you're ascending to another dimension doing these tony hawk pro goomba stomper combos on everything that doesn't have spikes on it's head it's amazing

Your typical rhythm game, but full of charm and style and a worrying amount of sex jokes

GOD DAMN NOW THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL A GOOD VIDEO GAME
The gameplay, the graphics, the soundtrack it all comes together to create the magnum opus of the Classic Sonic Trilogy that has yet to be matched to this day. Launch Base Zone kinda sucks tho.

This is the first game i 100%.
And that should say a lot.

As a follow-up of Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles has some comically oversized boots to fill.

Sonic & Knuckles feels loose and rushed. It's like the developers were trying to get this game out as fast as possible while making the best they could.

HMMMMMM I WONDER WHY.

The first couple of zones are great! But once you sink your teeth deeper and deeper into this game, the cracks start to appear, the rushness and lack of quality in the level design becomes more apparent, and the game becomes overall frustating and unfun the more you progress.

This game makes me sad from how... bad it is compared to it's masterful predecessor

I expected this game to be a bit inferior to Sonic 3, because it's hard to top it. But oh god i did not expect such mediocrity out of a Sonic game on the Genesis.

Death Egg Zone and it's boss were so bad i just gave up.
