Played the demo, not rating cuz it aint the full game

The "mii" variety of games are essentially my last bit of good will towards Nintendo. There's a certain innate charm of making a bunch of crude approximations of you, your friends and various pop culture characters and making them do wacky shit. Didn't pick this game up initially because it came relatively late in the 3DS life but playing the updated version is probably the most fun I've had with a first party nintendo game in a while. The new mii maker is absolutely insane with the amount of depth added letting you make complete abominations and masterpieces like never before. As an RPG, it's relatively simple, but still fun enough: There's enough interesting ideas (the powders, safe zone) that make it engaging enough, and while at first I thought no direct party control was a bad thing, it makes a game run faster that's already pretty easy. Social sim stuff is as great as ever too! Same kind of charm that something like tomodachi life had.

Overall, excited to play the full version! I dunno if I'd finish it immediately, but this def seems like a lot of fun in short bursts.

Seeing this getting revealed made me so excited and this has exceeded my expectations, though not completely breaking it. Its post-game isn't the longest and they did lock the mii central behind NSO which.. why...

But beyond those this is the same great game on the 3DS but with beautiful new graphics and new additions to combat and relationships like the Horse and Outings. Not only that, the new mii maker is flat out one of the best character creators I have ever seen in a video game.

No memes, No bullshit, this is one of my new top 10 Favorite Switch games and I'm so SO happy it was executed so well!

Awesome Port/Remake Of A GREAT 3DS Game

miitopia's not a perfect game by any means, and you have to be willing to put up with silly JRPG stuff and backtracky stuff (although, funnily enough, there's no need to grind if you dont want to which is nice) but i love this game so much. i LOVE miis. i love them so much. i love my little guy, KJH is his name. i made him in january 2007 shortly after the nintendo wii came out. in that time, i have made ONE edit to KJH, which was to make his head slightly smaller. that's it. he's the same otherwise. anygame that i get to see my silly little boy having fun is a game i'm going to love. and this game has so many ways of having fun! the classes are all very varied and have lots of fun aspects too them (some more than others, sorry Tank) and the fact that miis play every single NPC is so great! being able to put anyone you want in is so much fun! this game is just truly charming if you enjoy the gameplay involved. i really, really love it so much. there's some annoying stuff about how certain classes get slightly worse when they level up? like when the Cat starts stealing food instead of attacking its just a wasted turn! some personalities are just better than others (Stubborn and Cool are better than Laidback and Airheaded for example) and there could be MORE to do in the towns too, for the fact that after the story there's almost no reason to ever return to them. more opportunities to actually run around and talk to people, maybe lean more into the JRPG and actually buy stuff from each town's stores? that could be fun! but idk! gimme a sequel!!!!

Big missed opportunity in that there were no new classes or worlds added. As far as I know, just the horse, the new mii maker, and an extra postgame dungeon were added which is pretty disappointing considering the game's price tag. I partially forgive a lot of that stuff because I'm confident this game was only really released on Switch to test the waters for future mii-themed games - it was always intended to be a quick port.

Anyway, all the good stuff from the original is here again, and all the bad is as well. The game is ridiculously padded for the whole second half and seems to become more and more so as you go on, and the classes continue to be pretty unbalanced. The gameplay is still shallow and the game speed is pretty slow even when holding the B button.

However, as I said, the good is all still there. The soundtrack hits, the writing is cute and silly, the enemy designs are all there... and of course, the new mii maker very much breathes life into what would have been a far more stale port. Things felt way more connected this time with a sense of online community even though the game itself had nothing that natively supported it.

Aaaanyway, Miitopia's good but could be a lot better. Not worth picking up at full price unless you really want to support mii games like I do. Also if you do get it, please make sure to play it in short bursts rather than binging it. It's not at all a binge-friendly game.

Si sos creativo con los Miis que tenes, es muy bueno. El juego necesita de tu parte para brillar, pero rinde. No vale 60, eso si

I've always had a soft spot for Nintendo titles starring the Miis. Games like Wii Sports Resort, Nintendo Land, and Tomodachi Life have provided me with countless hours of gameplay filled with a certain charm I can't quite describe. Miitopia is no exception, as the updated Mii Maker allows for the most creative minds to come up with whatever they desire. Unfortunately, the depth of the Mii Maker isn't completely matched by the actual game. While I was pretty engaged for the first few hours, I began to lose interest hours before reaching the final boss. Still, I managed to push through and even get through the postgame, which has to mean something. Overall, I hope we get more Mii games in general and I hope the fantastic customization of Miitopia is carried over.

This game’s Mii creator is proof there is a God.

This game is great for people who have too many oc's

Was originally going to go for 100%, but the game is a bit too boring for me, at least post-game, the base game was pretty decent and I had a lot of fun.

ever since Tomodachi Life came to American audiences in 2014 I have been, admittedly, kind of obsessed with Mii games. this game is no exception. the fact that you can make an RPG and put in whoever you want is genuinely great. it's a bit bogged down by unfair postgame enemies and in-game achievements that feel more like busywork as you get closer to 100%ing the game, but it's genuinely a great game with one of the most killer soundtracks Nintendo has ever produced. I genuinely like this game's soundtrack more than Undertale, and that's a hard bar to clear

I will note that what you put in this game you will get out of it. I never tired of having my OCs in the game but people playing with more memey characters may tire out of the game a lot easier, it seems

Made it to the final area...can't really stomach anymore.

Miitopia is an adorable and fun experience that is honestly worth the $60 price tag just for the good times you can have with your friends or your favorite characters.

the only game where Ed (Ed, Edd n Eddy), is simping over Donald Trump's daughter Kenny (South Park)

this is why video games were made

i mean its basically just miitopia again, i like miitopia

Overall a pretty decent remaster of a pretty decent game. Come into it with the expectations of what you should expect from a Mii game and you'll be pleasantly surprised. The combat system is easy to understand and the scenes between party members are cute, but get annoying to see once you've seen all of them, which, in my playthrough, happened pretty quickly. The added content in the port itself is actually pretty cool, although it doesn't warrant the $60 price tag.

A cute little RPG with that Nintendo quirkiness. Big chunk of my enjoyment comes from the buffed up Mii Maker and subsequently casting my friends and favourite characters in the roles of Miitopia's delightfully weird and wacky scenarios.

Core gameplay has interesting ideas and the same wacky charm, but it's VERY simplistic and can get tiring with how frequently you are required to partake in it. This is especially bad during the final chunk of Miitopia's story, where the game throws quest after quest at you before you can proceed to the final dungeon. It's incredibly blatant padding to stretch out the game time.
Overall, I enjoyed my time, but knowing its a $50 remaster makes me disappointed they did not do more with the combat.

I really liked this game for the first half or so. It already got repetitive during the demo, but the customization and silly conversations were enough to entertain me.
Seriously, the Mii editor is AMAZING.

After some time I got exhausted and just rushed through as fast as I could. There‘s just not enough variety for a game that long. I would‘ve been more than satisfied if it had been just half as long.

The Mii creator is chef kiss
The wigs and makeup completely blow the previous Mii creators on Wii/3DS/WiiU out of the water, allowing for some incredibly creative designs like Sonic and King Dedede that actually look like their characters.

Unfortunately the game itself lacks any real depth or hooks. Once you've seen your Mii characters have their fun little interactions, there's little else to keep you invested in the game. It's a very basic RPG, where you select a level and the Mii party will automatically walk until they find a battle/etc.
The battles are very simplistic too. You control your own character while the rest do their actions automatically. It's cute and simplistic and a great way to dip your toes into the genre but it starts to wear thin after around 15 hours which is a shame

So repetitive, but I somehow never really grew tired of it. It has a special feel to it but I'm not sure I can pinpoint what it is in particular that makes it so charming. It must be a combination of the random humor, simple but efficient rpg elements, mii editor and lovely visuals. It embraces the stupidly one-dimensional world and characters and makes the most of it without taking itself seriously. I loved every minute of it even back in 2016 on the 3DS.

Great game, genuinely more solid of an RPG than you may expect at a first glance. Though I will say the last part drags quite a bit longer than it should

Beat the shit out of trollface with the help of RuPaul, Corpse Husband, and a $19 Fortnite Card. This is cinema.

Miitopia isn't very deep, or very difficult (at least until postgame), but it's a lot of fun. Speaking as someone with original characters of my own, being able to assign them roles and see them interact in funny ways was more than enough to hold my interest. In my opinion this is a great game to wind down with at the end of a day.

A good chunk of my time was spent in the extensive Mii creator, which is arguably worth the price of admission in itself if you're willing to experiment and push it to its limit like I was.

Not sure if the new additions would be enough to convince someone who bought it on 3DS to pick it up again, but the very nature of the game means no two playthroughs will be quite the same anyway. I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot if you want something lighthearted and fun.

Miitopia is extremely repetitive. The same enemies and events are constantly reused and there is virtually no variety in the combat.

The biggest thing it's always had going for it is that you can use the built in Mii editor to create virtually any character you can think of. That, in itself, is a very big plus, but the rest of the game is uninteresting and requires little to no interaction with the game aside from the maintenance you'll do in between levels (even that is pretty straightforward).
I'd say playing through the first four areas is a bit of a fun time, but anything past that is extremely barebones.

A nice and fun game, though it can get a little tedious. The real star of this game is the makeup system, and the sheer way in which it revolutionizes the process of creating Miis. The things people have made with the makeup system are astounding and mind-boggling. I truly do hope that future usage of Miis in Nintendo games use this system.
