at the end of the day my only gripe with Death Stranding is still the pacing, some sections of the game drag a lot, especially on subsequent playthroughs

Special World will be my downfall

it took me a month and half to finish this

SHOW MEEE THE CHAMPION OF LIIIIIIGHT
I'LL SHOW YOU THE HERALD OF DARKNEEEEEESS

A great game that's held back by a (still) mostly boring open world and side activities. Some of these side activities introduce some pretty interesting stuff but doing them can become tedious pretty quick.
I think the game really shines with its story even though it's still a pretty safe sequel and I would gladly give it 5 stars if it had taken more risks on the narrative side of things the same way The Last of Us Part 2 and God of War Ragnarok did.
Can't wait for the DLC or wtv the fuck they are cooking at Insomniac

A pretty nice game clouded by a shit PC port and an ok exploration system. The main quest is pretty average overall but the side quests are pretty fun, mainly the faction quests. The game has a lot of content to sort through but as it is now, it's just not enough, will definitely play it again when the game is better optimized and has a few more QOL changes.

Also, no DLSS at launch was the most stupid decision they could've made.

Haven't had this much fun playing something in a while. Super Mario Odyssey is pure bliss and it just keeps on adding to the already timeless gameplay that this franchise is known for.
Collecting Power Moons never felt like a chore, if anything, I wouldn't leave a kingdom without getting all the Power Moons I could.
Traversal is probably the best any Mario game has ever had.
In terms of level design and art direction each kingdom feels familiar yet unique, all levels are full of color and secrets to find.

Had a blast playing this.

Hogwarts Legacy was an ok game.

Not much to it, my expectations weren't that high given the studios previous games so I guess I left the game with a good enough enjoyment.

PROS
- Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and the open world look really beautiful
- Combat is fun throughout, even though it can get a little repetitive
- Sebastian's questline was probably the strongest narrative of the game, being even better than the main questline, all the characters there didn't feel one dimensional unlike most of the other existent characters
- The Room of Requirement is really good and it feels almost like a game within the game, there are a lot of customization options, the only downside being that most of them are locked behind grinding through the whole map to get the collectibles
- Flying, be it on a broom or a mount, it's always pretty fun

CONS
- Completely broken performance and optimization on PC, the game stutters a lot which breaks immersion
- No morality system, this game specifically would benefit greatly from that being a recurrent theme and choice instead of it being a dialogue option at the end of the game
- No companions, we do the relationship questlines with the 3 different students but we never get the option to take them with us to the open world outside of those quests, probably cut content
- Exploration, what starts off as fun soon becomes boring and overwhelming since most of the collectibles, outposts and locations are already marked on the map as soon as you clear the fog, giving it a feel of a Ubisoft or Horizon Zero Dawn open world where instead of exploring by scouting around, you just check the map and go from point to point clearing the locations
- Main story, it was ok, nothing groundbreaking, no real emotional weight to the characters since most of them are not that fleshed out, the ending is your simple good vs evil choice and that's that
- Weak villains, Rookwood and Ranrok barely appear in the story and their motives are just weak, Ranrok could have been a lot more developed and well-written, there was a lot of potential in that character to make him way more interesting and easy to sympathize with.

They have a lot they improve on for a future sequel incase that ever exists, starting by putting whoever was in charge of Sebastian's questline on the main story.

This is an amazing game but the second half of it is held back a bit by horrendous boss designs and completely frustrating boss runs. plim plim plom boss was great even though I spent 2 straight hours trying to beat him

rip sif

When it comes to story, this is probably one of the best narrative experiences I've ever had with a game, none of the characters feel two dimensional, even those characters that stay in the background for most of the time. All of them have weight, the side plots are interesting to explore and for the most part you don't feel like you're deviating from the main quest because of it.

This was really a trip, the relationships and motivations of each character felt real and well thought out and you just can't help but feel what each character is feeling during the game's runtime. It's also a really heavy game when it comes to the themes it explores: grief, vengeance, the search for meaning, the paths we create throughout our lives, cause and effect and all the consequences that come with each choice we make, Ragnarok really shines as a coming of age story, the same way as a story about the burdens we carry on our backs.
Can't wait to see what Santa Monica Studios comes up with for their next game and just hope that the writing is as good as this.
