i think the yakuza games only sort-of count as an 'open world checklist' game but i think they're close enough to include here

i think the Submerged games are very small-scale examples of the genre but i like that there's a more indie example when everything else here is Very Big

this is the game that usurped Just Cause 2 as my "just drive around and vibe" game for a solid year or two after playing it

the writing is mostly terrible but i sure did see every last piece of it!

i've 100%'d this game at least twice and for a long time kept it installed to just go drive around the island because it was so relaxing

this game is terrible AND YET i've got like 200 hours in it because i just like killing all the bandits in a cave or whatever

i don't remember anything specific about playing this game but i played it for like 80 hours, what is wrong with me

i'm in the middle of my third 100% playthru of this and just broke 350 hours played
