Definitely an improvement from the last one. Aside of the more detailed scenarios and new weapons, Ryu has a much better control (like FINALLY being able to attack when hanging from a wall). The story is slightly worse for me, but it has also a more fair difficulty I'd say. I'd say it's more fun than its predecessor.
I heard as much bad stuff about this game as Castlevania II, but I disagree in a lot of stuff with this one. It's not as cryptic as the first one, the fighting system is much better, the leveling up system is decent and I find the dungeons more fun, even tho all of them are basically a monster corridor (which makes the game also pretty damn hard). Also, always starting from the same point when you die is bullshit.

I understand this game was everything back then, the speedrunning phenomenon and stuff. But I don't like to judge based on how old or important a game is, and the slippery gameplay and monothony made me feel frustrated since the very first moment (and well, you can't save). I can't stand it, but it's not a bad game. Even I had a little bit of fun

Insane level design, music and boss fights with interesting difficulty and good difficulty in 8-bit greatness. It's no wonder why do people consider this the best classic Mega Man entry. The only reason it's not for me its because of nostalgia and because I really like Mega Man's slide (which is removed from this game). Aside of that, absolutely Mega Man quality here
1998
I don't think this game is bad, but I ended up hating it. The music is among the worst in the franchise, the stage design is usually weird and not very fun at all for me and it's insanely difficult, specially the king stages, almost unfair. Some boss battles are fun, playing as Bass is obviously cool as hell, but I don't think I'll play this game again. Sorry
1996
I'm not a big fan of this game's graphics or voice acting, and I personally don't like the new concept of the stages, with the middle checkpoints and stuff. Bit that doesn't justify the hate this game gets. Some stages are a lot of fun, some robot masters and its fights are so cool and god this game has good music.
1995
I personally really like this game. The graphics and music are between the best of the console, and It includes new memorable characters and the shop. The robot masters and its weapons are good, but its fights are massively improved. It's one of the most difficult Mega Man games, mainly because of insanely and unfairly hard moments (like the final boss) but finishing this game makes you feel like a god
1993
The cow ran dry here. Yeah, Mega Man can fuse with his dog Rush now, but...that's it. I have to say, the graphics are some of the greatest on the NES, and, again, it has amazing music. The idea of the robot masters representing countries is cool too, but the weapons are extremely basic, the level design can get generic at some points and bosses, again, aren't impressive at all. I feel kind of bad, because if this game existed by itself, i could consider it one of the best in the console. But being the sixth game of a franchise and not even close to the best of it...it is was it is.
1992
Here we enter the "another Mega Man game" realm. The fifth entry of the series added some new things (the W tanks, a bird called Beat) and centered the story around an interesting character, but that's it. Graphic improvements and the usual good OST aside, this game doesn't take a step forward; bosses aren't very impressive and many weapons are horrible. Capcom was milking the cow a little bit too much.
Also, this game has a horrible E-tank approach that made the last bosses a joke.

1991
One of the most important games of the franchise, adding the charged buster and a new villain for the first time, an idea the next 2 games would folllow. This game also has the best weapon roster and some of the coolest robot masters. I think it's worse than 3, mainly because of its level design and OST (which is still pretty good), but still a high point in the Mega Man saga.
1990
The peak of classic Mega Man, in my opinion. Weapons and level design are more varied and balanced, the ost improves too and it even has surprising ending. The main flaw is, of course, the Doc Robot thing with its recycled stages and bosses; I like the idea of the changed levels, but I think it tries too hard to make the game last longer.
Still, this was my first megaman game, I completed it more than 10 times, so I can't deny that I love it
