This game will mug you, stab you, kick you in the balls, then piss on you while your on the ground. It is the definition of a brutal game. But thats why its so amazing. Lisa is a game about trauma, hopelessness, and living in world not worth living in. Constantly facing the worst humanity has to offer and trying to survive in a world that wants nothing but your blood. The story is brilliant and, well, painful.

The gameplay is very fun, especially for a game like this. From my experience, many games that try to focus on the story and the meaning behind it tend to have gameplay as just a useless little side bit. But Lisa has very fun gameplay that perfectly entwines with it's themes. It forced you to play and feel like your living in this cruel world. Brad Armstrong is easily one of my favorite characters in gaming. His character is well fleshed out and presented in a complex and honest way. A heavily flawed man doing what he thinks is best in a world that's only every treated him like shit. A character that you equal parts want to give the biggest hug and the biggest punch across the face.

With one of my favorite stories in gaming, a banging soundtrack, and of the darkest and cruelest worlds I've seen in media, this game is easily one of the best games I've played. I don't recommend it to people who are sensitive to topics of violence, rape, suicide, abuse, body horror, substance abuse, person abuse, and really anything terrible you can think of under the sun. But if you are ok with a story that revels in these topics, I highly recommend giving it a try.

This is a game that stands very dear and near to my heart. It's an absolute blast of a game and some of the best fun I've had during a game. This is the type of game that you can sink a couple hundred hours into. And thats not taking into account how much time you can spend with modded terraria. And its soundtrack is and absolute BANGER! A crown jewel of my gaming catalogue.

That being said this is a game with quite a few faults. You will most likely spend half your time grinding for the thousands of items and materials you will need to progress through the game, and that only gets worse the farther you get in the game. The combat, although diverse in the way of weapons and equipment, can be very limiting, usually resorting to bullet hells with extremely limited movement. It can be daunting and confusing to newcomers. And can have difficulty spikes that look like mountain range.

Despite that I am still absolutely enthralled and in love with this game. I highly suggest giving it a try and see if it fits you.

Lost potential. This game could be so much more than it already is if it just had the team, resources, time, and enough attention from valve to really grow. It's still an amazingly fun game and one of my favorite multiplayer games. but where it stands now is a bot ridden, incomplete game with a community gasping for air. I love this game, but it's a game thats been sitting on deaths door for years now, and will still be sitting there for a while.

I don't want to say much about this game as saying too much may lead to ruining the game for some. But all I will say is this is a beautiful game that is well worth the time of anyone with time, patience, and a love for emotional roller coasters.

Hotline Miami is one of my personal favorite games. It's a drug fueled, hazy, blood bath of a game. It's story is quite enjoyable and the gameplay is even more so, highly recommend.

This game is a bit of a downgrade from the first, and yet a huge upgrade from the first.

Art and story wise, this game is PHENOMENAL. The story has way more depth in it then the first. While HM1 was trying to make a statement through its gameplay, its story only a helping hand to it. HM2 brings the story first. Personally I enjoy that more. The characters are all intriguing and bring alot more to the game. All having their own statement to make and own meanings to discuss. And the art is improved well, with more intricate pixel art and all around better looking graphics.

Though gameplay wise it is a bit of a downgrade in a way. The new characters bring a really interesting new level to the gameplay, with The Fans' different abilities and ways of playing, Manny's distinct pacifism, and Beard's nail biting military segments. Manny really makes you feel like a writer out of his depth, Beard makes you feel like a one man army trying to survive, Pardo makes you feel like a power tripping cop with a few screws loose. Though the gameplay wasen't scaled with much care. The difficulty and become annoying at many times. Instead of a challenge it can feel like a complete road block. And the levels tend to have a problem with design, with the game throwing windows on every wall and sending you into rooms full of crowds of people all with guns that will auto aim you out of existence.

The story is a massive improvement and the gameplay is more interesting, yet not as well crafted. A great game and an amazing experience.

It was a fun game to start but it really just felt more and more lacking the more I played. I don't have much to say, I just saw it as a sort of eh tier game.

Stardew Is a sweet game for people who want an escape from their life. Although the game play is mostly basic and unengaging, it is best that way. It's just a nice piece of escapism that can suck you in for months. A good game to play as you listen to a podcast and relax. Emily is best girl.

An extremely fun game that will force you to think. Most shooters are just mindless tanking and firing, but this game is best played as a puzzle game over a shooter. Run, Think, Shoot, Live.

I am a huge fan of Rouge-Likes, and this is one of the best Rouge-Likes I've played. Its gamepley is diverse, its lore is deep, its exhilarating, knuckle whiteningly hard at times, and extremely fun to play.

2008

This review is truly hard one for me. This is one of the first games I've played. I can still remember little me letting my imagination run wild as I played this game over and over again. There was a time were this was on of my favorite games of all time.

Though seeing art through nostalgia filled glasses isn't always the greatest idea. I have revisited this game and seen what it truly is, a disappointment. There is not much I can say, this is just a game that you will have a hard time finding enjoyment in unless you are playing it to make fun of it. I love this game, but it's bad.

This is a game I hate to love.

Dont get me wrong, I had a blast playing this game, but all things considered, its not a great game. Although I highly enjoyed the game, its writing is atrocious at times, its game play is almost non existent, and the devs don't know how to make a fun mini game. I enjoyed this game and you may enjoy it too, but all things considered, its not great.

More of the same from the first game, just with some more enjoyable characters.

A fun game to enjoy in bursts.

If you aren't into walking sim type games this game isn't for you. The gameplay itself isn't very engaging, at most being boiled down to "Talk to person find object, place object somewhere else, walk". But the gameplay isnt what this game is made for.

The art is brilliant, it's mix of surreal, dadaist, and almost dr seuss like environments with the almost sinister and unsettling undertones makes the game a bizarre & beautiful mess. And I use mess in a good way. And the story, all biet hard to understand if you haven't played the other games (made a bit worse with the fact that there isn't really a set order to play them in), is very mysterious and fun to unravel. The armosphere is well made and does a good job at pulling you into this weird world Cosmo D has made. Especially with its amazing soundtracks that stands as one of my favorite OST's in gaming.

If your the type to play a game like firewatch, gone home, or Kentucky Route Zero, or just have a taste for the strange and bizzarely beautiful, this game is a must play.
