Kinda alright? It's just compromised by a presentation that's... nothing. You could practically do anything given the source material, and I don't think they took much of a risk.

If I exclusively cared about gameplay, I'd probably have a decent time. But I like risks.

Yeah, not really having enough fun to keep playing.

Relatively sure I can see why people love it, just not connecting with me.

Got clotheslined by a really frustrating bug my first time through the PC version. Hours into it. Gonna give it another shot.

Fingers crossed.

Edit: Nope. Easily one of the most strange bugs I've encountered. Ah well.

Note 1: Have significant qualms with the way this game is structured, and balanced. But it looks great and sounds even better. So I think I'm gonna stick it out.

Note 2: Probably not that far off from finishing it, but I can't. The writing needed a dedicated edit, it's gratingly ineffective, and there's so little about the gameplay that makes sense to me. Metroidvanias are hard, man, I get that. I just don't think the hands in charge of this one were capable enough.

A lot of great art, though. And the real reason I kept playing was the music. But I bought the soundtrack and that'll be what I bring with me.

The most I've enjoyed Call of Duty since the first MW, but the level design in these games is so structurally flawed that it's hard for me to sustain that enjoyment. I just don't find corridor shooters any fun.

Yeah, not the right fit. Glad people are enjoying it, and it's impressive for a studio's first production.

I imagine some of my distaste stems from an inability to enjoy the game in a vacuum. I can't deny that the source for much of its inspiration presents an unfavorable comparison. Lies of P makes an admirable attempt to engineer its own identity, but it's not convincing enough to dispel the feeling that I'm playing a worse version of something I love.

Might come back to this at some point. It's just not doing it for me right now.

Raytracing looks surprisingly nice, especially coupled with one of the best CRT modes I've seen in a game, but I don't really need to finish up Doom '93 at this particular moment.

Changed my mind. And then I changed it back. There's really nothing like it. But I don't think I have the patience to actually succeed in terms of its very specific goals.

I wish it was more freeform.

Game's structure is not that appealing to me. It's alright otherwise, tense and mechanically engaging, just like the first one.

Fine? Maybe not so much into golf as I used to be. Or it's the game. Hard to say.

Extremely polished presentation. And I think the way it gets to the point is admirable, and effective. But there's not enough to actually make me want to keep playing. Feels a little barren. Though on the flipside, given the setting, if it actually tried to say anything, well, that might not have been an improvement.

Had more fun with the WiiU follow-up. Can't pinpoint what it is, but this feels off somehow.

Not sure what it is. Maybe just not for me. The production is undeniable, but it's not really hitting.

I'm vaguely intrigued by the framing, and I really like the two main voice actors. I'm just not that compelled by the writing, or the morality system. The strength of those performances and this dark fairy tale vibe they've got going might've evened it out, but... it's not very fun. The bow has no punch at all, and the magic is no better.

Hardcore is enjoyable enough, but I don't think I can stomach the sewer section a fourth time. Police station remains the best part of this game. Also Leon is ridiculous.

the largeness resembles alluring at first, as it so often does, but it's just not that fun
